The staff were all really nice and the food was amazing as usual

We ate at The Mountain House for the first time and it was absolutely fantastic — the food, the service and the overall experience. Hazel took such great care of us. When we asked for recommendations, she suggested the squash ravioli. As we were drawn to the steak, she suggested we split the ravioli as a starter instead — something I would never have thought to order, but I’m so glad we took her advice.It was absolutely gorgeous, incredibly flavoursome. After tasting the first course, I slightly regretted ordering the steak for my main, thinking we might have been playing it safe. But when it arrived… wow. It was amazing! The salad was also gorgeous (usually my least favourite part of a meal) and the chips were really good too. Given how fantastic the food had been, we obviously had to try the desserts. I had the choux buns and my partner had the apple pie — another dish I probably wouldn’t have chosen myself, but it was absolutely divine. It was also lovely to meet Joe, the chef. He’s clearly incredibly talented, and Hazel was so warm, genuine and lovely. Together, they’ve created a really special restaurant — somewhere that gives you such a warm welcome alongside truly fantastic food. We absolutely loved our first visit and can’t wait to go back!

Amazing!! We shared the porterhouse steak which was phenomenal. We got the Mac n cheese and the Parmesan and honey fries as sides and they were delicious. Couldn’t fault a thing, cocktail selection was great and enjoyed every one. Highly recommend!

Dinner and the service was excellent. Diego went above and beyond! Highly recommend!

Lovely peaceful place with friendly efficient staff. The very best of ingredients cooked to perfection- even the vegetables! Well worth the trip.
