If you're going to take your name from a badass like the patron saint of blacksmiths, you better be able to back it up. Baldamar marks the turning point where we usher in the new standard for style, service and steak. It means the menu’s made with old-world craft at its core and modern day meat eaters in mind — with flavors forged in fire and folded into pure primal perfection. It’s where every steak is aged 40 days and 40 nights for a taste of biblical proportion, and where crazy-fresh seafood means it was caught during your morning commute. At the bar sits every spirit imaginable, and someone who isn’t afraid to use them. This is more than a new steakhouse. It’s a line in the sand. It’s not just where you celebrate special occasions. It’s where you create them.*A 20% Service Fee is added to all groups of 8 or more.

Great food, good wine choices, friendly, knowledgeable service. The open nature of the dining room and the design of the ceilings mean it gets a bit loud when it is full and every table is talking...but the food makes up for it.

If you want to experience an old fashioned 50s steak house, this place is for you. I try to find this place in every city I visit. Before I tell you about the steak, we’ll start with the accompaniment dishes. Au gratin potatoes, browned in their own ramekin. Just cheesy enough and perfectly cooked. Next was a surprise vegetable dish. Creamed corn sounds so simple, not worthy of a mention. Well these were not your typical kernels. They were expertly combined with pablano peppers and the subtlety of that additional flavor made this corn stand out. I had the New York strip steak. I asked for it to be cooked rare. It’s been hard recently to find a chef that understands what rare actually means. Well I can tell you that the chef on the grill at Murray’s knows exactly what it means. It ranks in the top 5 steaks I have had in the last ten years or so. Thank you Amy for the great service. You made me laugh. I always appreciate that. When in Minneapolis, go to Murray’s. You won’t regret it
