Kumari Restaurant and Bar - Mt. Vernon
My husband and I had a delicious dinner here before a concert at the BSO. It was quiet when we arrived, but picked up quickly. The service was great and the food was excellent. I had the tandoori salmon, which was outstanding.
SOOO MF SPICY!!! My sinuses are clear as day.
Also, I think the same song played for our entire meal. Not complaining, just an interesting choice. Those musicians must have had some stellar stamina. Overall, a stellar evening with good food and great service. I left with a few less taste buds, but I would return for sure.
Good quality and variety.
Food is was fresh and well spiced. Particularly liked the samosas and the Tibetan chicken dumpling soup. The goat was good. It came with some nice fluffy rice with that really opened the flavor of the sauce.
We have always loved Kumari’s food, but it is the people that makes us come back.
Great food, very fresh & well prepared.
The food was delicious, the atmosphere and decor pleasant, and the service good. We were there late, and only two or three other tables were occupied, so the staff were attentive and helpful. Kumari is now a permanent fixture on our go-to list of restaurants when in the mood for good, authentic Indian food.
Kumari serves very good Indian food. It's nearly as good as any other Indian food we've had, and it is also more moderately priced than most other Indian restaurants that cater to a more "upscale" dining experience. Portions are generous but not overly so. Even though the restaurant says it's Nepalese as well as Indian, I think the Indian menu items predominate. The premises are clean and the wait staff very attentive. We will definitely return to Kumari, as it is the best South Asian restaurant we've found yet in the Mount Vernon area and the prices are on the lower end of the scale as well -- which makes it doubly attractive, of course.
Great Indian Food. Nothing exceptional...but very good. Service was good. Prices very reasonable.
Excellent flavors - Similar to an Indian restaurant, but with some subtle differences that make it even more interesting.
Great food (tons of it, and delicious), awesome location, the service was impressive, and it was very affordable. We'll definitely return.
We don't think there was anything really wrong with this restaurant, it just wasn't to our liking.
