    The food was good and served relatively well for pacing after placing the order. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with seating and then the time it took to have a server come to the table. (I had to eventually flag one down after another wait.) When a customer has a reservation, and you’re only seating people with reservations, I don’t think it’s proper form to make everyone wait 10 to 15 minutes for a table, but perhaps there was a staffing problem on the night I was there.

    Extremely crowded and NO STAFF available. Ran out of the meat specials. Overall, the restaurant was not prepared to service the amount of people.

    We were w our kids and we had a 6:30pm reservation. We arrived at 6:25 and were not seated until 7:05 and from the moment we arrived the hostess gave me and my family attitude w no apology and no updates on when we’d be seated. When we finally were seated after a 40 min wait, we had a good waiter but after looking at the menu w our kids, upon taking the orders Kona was out of the menu item that two of our kids wanted to order. Let’s just say we got fed and most of food was good but it was not the pleasant dining experience my wife and I were expecting w our family.

    WE were disappointed with Kona Grill. When we arrived on time for our reservation (made thru Open Table) we were told that the restaurant was at capacity and we would have to wait 30 minutes or more for a table. We were also told the kitchen was backed up and we should probably look for another restaurant. 3 other parties walked in after us and were told the same thing. We decided to stay because we were going to a concert in walking distance from the restaurant. While waiting we noticed at least 4 empty tables in the visible area and empty tables behind a side area. We were seated 30 minutes later at a table that had been empty for 30 miunutes. When I asked why we could not of had this table 1/2 hour ago the hostess said she was waiting for people whose names were on the list ahead of us. I asked if they had reservations and she said she wasnt sure. She did thank us for our patience. The waiter was very pleasant and the food was good. We did not receive an appetizer ordered before the dinner came out and it was canceled. Overall, Open Table should of guaranteed us a table around the time we asked for. I realize things happen but it seemed as though management was not prepared for a busy night. They should of been because of the sold out JOURNEY and TOTO concert at the CFG ARENA. Thanks for allowing me to give a review.

    CONTINUED Needless to say, waiting over 20 minutes for seating with multiple open tables available; multiple food items not being available well as multiple beverage items not available were unacceptable. BUT the kicker of the night was when a gentleman walked his scooter from the kitchen area out the front door. I was floored. NEVEREVER have I ever seen any shenanigans like this and neverever will I grace their doors again. Total Fail!!

    Under staffed. Waiter didn’t let us know one person’s choice was not available until he brought the food for the rest of the table. Food taste was good but the wait and order mess up really take away from it all. Plus they did Nothing to make up for their mistake.

    The restaurant was out of ingredients for two of the specialty drinks our party of three ordered and out of two menu items we ordered for dinner. Two of the meals were terrible, one meal was great. The waiter started out attentive and then disappeared for a lengthy period of time during the main course. We had to ask about our appetizer three times and it finally arrived in the middle of our main course. We could hear someone in the kitchen yelling at staff during dinner.

    Hostess was under prepared for volume of customers and not very professional with patrons with reservations (not just us). Server was pleasant and nice to work with. Asked for medium cooked steak which came overcooked (slightest of pink in middle). Lobster was very undercooked (more pink than the steak). Miso Sea Bass was a bit undercooked and flavor was awful. I refused to try a second bite in fear of becoming sick. Lobster and Sea Bass garnered one bite each. I was neither brave nor self loathing enough to try a second. The asparagus was cooked perfectly and had a nice flavor. As stated, the server was nice enough and did a respectable job to which I tipped the standard 15%. For a restaurant situated in the best part of the city and a high traffic area, I don’t see Kona Grill being a mainstay. I do not plan on returning.

    Unbelievably horrible experience. We had 5:30pm reservations (party of 4), and were seated pretty much on time. The waitress came over quickly and took our drink orders, and we were off to a great start. The menu looked great and we were all excited. Then 10, 20, and 30 minutes passed without our drinks. We flagged the waitress two times, asking her if she could even just bring us water while we waited, but she said "your drinks are up next to be made" both times. At the 30 minute mark we asked if she could at least take our food order, which she did. 20 more minutes went by with still no drinks, no food, and no waitress to talk to. At this point we were settled into the insanity of how horrible this place was, so kind of started to enjoy how laughable it all way. At the one hour mark since we were seated, we still didn't have any drinks (or water), but two of our meals came out. ...and then another 20 minutes passed, but the other two meals hadn't come, and still no drinks! At the 90 minute mark our experience the waitress came by and said "sorry, you can just leave or whatever, we'll comp the meal". She walked away while we all said "can we at least get water!". As two of us watched the other two eat, our drinks magically appeared with the person delivering them saying "sorry for the wait". The crazy thing was, it seemed like all of the parties around us were having a totally normal dining experience while we were stuck in the Twilight Zone. So, in conclusion, this place may be a total shitshow, but at least you'll leave with a bonding experience you and your friends will laugh about forever.

    Had a horrible experience here on Saturday. We had a 5:30 reservation on Saturday before we went to a concert at CFG. We arrived a few minutes early but there was a line at the host stand. When we finally checked in they said it would be a few minutes. They sat a 6:00 ressie for 15 people before we were sat. They sat 2 four tops ahead of us who had checked in after. At 545 I tried to ask the hostess if she had an estimate on when we would be sat. She only proceeded to complain about the mess she walked into. I asked for a solution, not a complaint and she was so rude. We finally just sat at a bar table but the service was awful. I ordered a martini, after waiting 15 minutes to get my drink, he brought it to the table dripping wet, and when I took a sip it was warm. Warm dirty martini is disgusting! We will never go back here. Is was a disaster.

    The service was terrible. We order beer and it didn’t show up at the table until we were ready to leave. We asked for mayo for the burgers and we never received it. The $25 burgers were no better than McDonald’s burgers. The restaurant was pretty dirty with trash all over the floor.

    When I viewed the menu online it looked very good. We had to wait to check in for our reservation and noticed a strong smell of stale beer. The hostess was not very welcoming. Our server was nice but was having a difficult time keeping our order straight. Overall they seemed to be understaffed, disorganized, and the cleanliness was sub par.

    Arrived a little early for our reservation and so we sat at the bar to wait. After over 45 minutes of waiting (and well past our reservation time), despite inquiring with the hostess ourselves and the bartender trying to help out as well, we finally decided to just order food from the bar. Half our order arrived, and after about another 20 minutes of waiting, we were able to ask a bartender about the missing food. It seems it had been sitting somewhere in the back. I had to eat very quickly in order to leave in time for our evening event. The bartenders were doing their best - we loved Mike - but this place seems very poorly run and managed.

    This restaurant was fine, fine service, fine food, nothing to per se write home about, definitely not somewhere you can dress up and go to it’s more relaxed and regular. But it was a fine experience.

    The ladies bathroom has a foul order, needs air fresheners installed until this problem can get fixed. Our first server came over introduced himself, we asked him twice to repeat his name. He spoke in a tone where we were unable to hear him. Our second server introduced himself, but was not familiar with the menu, he had not eaten anything on the Restaurant Week menu. Never came to check on us. We were a party of 5. Service was beyond adequate, but the food was amazing.

    Came for a business meeting. The music was way too loud, even if there for casual meal and conversation. They were clearly short-staffed and service was extremely slow. Waited 30 minutes for water and had to ask twice for a server to come to our table. When we asked for the server to come over we were told that is just how the restaurant business works. Complete lack of communication from the staff about the wait for order-taking and food delivery. Also had to wait a long time for the bill, and had to walk around the restaurant to find the server for service. The food was very good, but did not make up for the wait and lack of service and communication.

    This was my first visit to a Kona Grill. It will be the last. While the clam chowder was good, the fish and chips was only fair. Both were considerably overpriced for the quality and the portion. The service was poor. To be fair, the restaurant was probably understaffed. We had to wait for our table, although we had a reservation, and our table was in a crowded section by the bar and the front door. We had to wait 20 minutes for a waiter, who was also turned out to be the only bartender. The hostess was friendly but apologized for not being more helpful since she was new to the job.

    It was a Monday night on a table with 8 people. We got the food 60 min after ordering. And a friend had lunch there on the same day and it took 45 minutes to get her food. Not worth it.

    I found my experience at Kona Grill rather frustrating. My boyfriend and I came for restaurant week ($35 pp). We both enjoyed the sushi roll appetizer, I found my stir fry entree extremely disappointing, but the dessert was good. I had to ask our server for something ever time she came over, like napkins, utensils, we never got spoons for our dessert and used the dinner forks to eat dessert. The dessert was brought to the table while we were still eating the entree. The one thing I did appreciate though was that the waitress went out of her way to ask the kitchen if there were any nuts in the food because I'm allergic. For that I am grateful. I found the location in which we were sitting very strange, in the corner, and the lighting in the 'indoor/outdoor' part of the restaurants, which I'm sure is great in the summer time, was less than ideal for our meal. The lights were LED and super bright and unappealing. Made the location feel cheap. There is no convenient place to park so we ended up having to pay at a garage, which you get charged for by timeframe. Because we had to wait to be seated and then wait to order and then wait to pay, we paid the same amount for the PARKING as we did for one persons meal. Absolute waste of money and I wish we chose to go to a different restaurant for dinner.

    Service was horrible. I tried ordering the Asian chicken salad, making it gluten free and they couldn't even find a dressing that is gluten free. I can make dressing at home with lemon juice, honey, and spices (not that hard). We (table of 3) waited almost 45 minutes for an order of French toast, a poke bowl and my salad. My salad was last to come out (they said they were waiting on the salad)…which honestly should be one of the first things to come out. When it did arrive, the dressing was already mixed in and the chicken was breaded. They took it back and I had to wait another 30 minutes. What they brought out was horrible to say the least. They gave me a bowl of dry cabbage (nothing on it) and a few slices of plain chicken breast. On top of this, we didn't even get our appetizer until after my salad came out the first time. This restaurant has the potential to be good but the service is horrible and the chefs do not know how to accommodate for very common food allergies. 100000% would NOT recommend.

    We had a reservation and waited 45 mins still for a table. Then another 30 mins for our order to be taken. The waiter tried his best but overall he was overwhelmed and lacked any kind of nice service. He clearly had too many tables to wait. The food was ok but didn’t taste fresh at all. It’s really hard to have a nice experience when you have waited almost 2 hours for food and are starving and thirsty.

    They did not offer Baltimore Restaurant Week at first. After we asked for it, they said they cannot make what was on the restaurant week brunch menu. We landed up ordering over priced breakfast we did not want to have. Disappointed.

    As soon as I walked in, I could instantly tell that something had changed. I hadn't been since September, I think. It used to feel family oriented and kind of close nit. Now it feels like an open bar that will turn into a club past a certain hour. Something was off with the cleanliness you could tell. The drinks were watered down, and the food was subpar. I will not be returning. As I was walking out, I asked the front person if they were under new management, and she informed me sadly that they were.

    Server took absolutely forever to bring anything. 30 min. for drinks. My old fashioned had a piece of glass in it! Food was ok though, burger, sushi, Kobe bowl. A little pricey but that’s what you get right in pratt st.

    I have always loved Kona but was very disappointed with our last visit. Calamari was chewy and my fish was over done. Server was good but had too many tables. It was also way too loud I could not hear my friends talking.
