Excellent service and fantastic food quality. My favorite sushi restaurant in Queens.
Katsuno is where you make a reservation for authentic highest level Japanese cuisine in Queens. The agedashi tofu, duck udon, salmon appetizers and salads, beef tataki, poached egg, octopus vinaigrette, are all amazing.
Limited menu for non-sushi eater.
Superb authentic Japanese cuisine served in a calm delightful atmosphere. This is a neighborhood gem of a restaurant worth seeking out for any dining occasion. Those in the know about Japanese food will find an exceptional variety of wonderful dishes to choose from, along with an excellent sake list. The team behind the restaurant are completely dedicated to their craft and very welcoming. The ingredients are quality, and the preparation and presentation are true to Japanese cuisine as one may experience this in Japan, an amazing country I have had the great pleasure to tour several times. Every visit here I try a new dish, and am continuously pleased with the variety of offerings. Try something new here, you’ll be delighted. Truly a favorite restaurant of mine. Be sure to make a reservation as they often book up and walking in is usually discouraged due to the intimate space and capacity. Highly recommended.
Katsuno remains our favorite Japanese restaurant. Whatever my wife and I have, is always excellent!
Very private environment and the food seems like quality items
Best soba broth in Queens, hands down. Everything is incredibly fresh and expertly prepared.
Food is amazing. No surprise that they’re Michelin Recommended since 2009.
didn’t know the restaurant don’t take walk in anymore. Glad I made reservation through open table website.
Fresh and authentic Japanese food. Delicious and perfect for a special meal.
As good as it always is. The best!!!!
This is a Japanese restaurant where chef-owners dine. I know because I had a lovely conversation with one during this visit to cozy yet excellent Katsuno.
My self-designed tasting menus typically start with the zensai - 3 small plates of the chef's choosing. Usually one is kabocha, the other two vary. Consistently delightful way to open the palate.
This time, I ordered a first course of madai from Japan (!), unagi and 1 other white fish (senior moment-please pardon me). Beautifully prepared and presented.
The tenzaru soba was perfect for a post-beach re-entry into urban life.
This is a rare neighborhood gem, worth the trip.
I have been to Katsuno many times. It is a small restaurant and I really suggest you make a reservation, especially on the weekend. The food has always been excellent and this time, it was just as good as it always has been. Best compliment I can give is if you live in far away, going to Katsuno is worth the trip!
Delicious date night restaurant. Best restaurant in Forest Hills.
Small and poorly decorated/maintained. Food was okay. Service was not
Always excellent food and service and ambience. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Loved the food, great service. Will definitely recommend.
As usual Katsuno hits the spot. The food is always amazing and the staff are always wonderful. The food is by far the best Japanese cuisine in all New York.
Absolutely the best Sashimi we've ever had. Flavorful, tender and served at the proper temperature to enhance taste - unlike most Sushi restaurants that serve icebox sushi (in accordance with Dept of Health regulations). The wasabi is real and the soy sauce home brewed. Truly an exceptional meal at 3x the price of standard sushi houses.
Is it worth $135 for 2 - Yes to experience a fine Omikase dinner - but too expensive to be my goto restaurant.
As always, we enjoyed the best sashimi & sushi you can get in NY !
The quality of ingredients was excellent and the preparation by the chef was very professional. Our server was very attentive. We were pleasantly surprised by the authenticity of the cuisine and would love to come back!
We love this restaurant! The fish is super fresh, service is amazing!!!!! Best sushi in queens!
This is the Hidden gem of Forest Hills, tasty and creative. everything is well executed and presented
Very fresh ingredients prepared skillfully and tastefully in a quiet friendly atmosphere. What more could you want in a wonderful neighborhood restaurant!
Love the fish best sushi in queens
A very special restaurant that serves aunthentic japanese food as good as any restaurant in Tokyo.
The staff and chef deliver consistently amazing dishes that I enjoy all year long.
Came here to celebrate a birthday and it was very special. Food is excellent, not your typical Japanese fare. The chef makes everything that much more special. Service was very good, the main waitress was very sweet and attentive. The only thing I’d change is the ambience, make it a bit more romantic. Otherwise I am happy to return in the near future. Excellent hidden gem!
I have been to Katsuno many times. The food and its quality have always been excellent. It is a small restaurant that delivers authentic Japanese food no matter what you order.
Great friendly service and excellent sushi. This is my favorite sushi restaurant in Queens.
This was the second time my partner and I went to Katsuno, and it’s a favorite. We went to Japan earlier this year, and Katsuno is the best Japanese food we have had stateside. You know you’re in good hands when your tempura appetizer has a perilla leaf in it. Sashimi platter was fresh and beautifully presented. Tuna crudo with miso and scallion was a great balance of sweet and salty. The egg tofu custard with sea urchin was a lovely texture and pleasantly briny. Our server even graciously found us a particular type of sake from the back based on a picture we showed her from our trip, and it was just right. Protip: go a couple blocks on Metropolitan to Silk Cakes for dessert.
Great food especially Battera. You should try it. It’s very authentic.
Katsuno is an authentic Japanese restaurant. It’s small, only about 10 tables. But the taste of the food is huuuge. It is a favorite of our and we have worked our way through most of the menu.
No losers. I think it is closed Monday and Tuesday That means you have 5 other days to treat yourself.
The food is excellent and the staff fabulous!!! The sushi is fresh and every dish delicious. Love this spot
The most outstanding sushi restaurant I've ever eaten at. So much heart and such incredible food.
Wonderful meal as always, this is my favorite restaurant. The host/manager does an amazing job, she is the main reason why we keep coming back. Delicious food!
Katsuno is authentic Japanese cuisine.
The sashimi platter is always fresh and beautifully prepared... very well balanced.
Service is professional and pleasant.
I've been there several times and they are consistent.
I took my friend who is Japanese and has traveled to Japan for most of her life and told me this food is exceptional.
So if you want traditional Japanese food with excellent quality this place is a hidden gem.
Great food and atmosphere! Will definitely go again!
Lovely staff. Delicious food. Artisan beer hailing from Japan. Wide range sake menu as well.
Everything was oishii from our zensai to our main course. Fish was very fresh, and my husband's steak was like butter.
Extremely fresh sashimi and also delicious appetizers.
