In Riva is a Southern Italian inspired restaurant with urban flair, specializing in Napoletana style pizza, house-made pasta and contemporary antipasti. In Riva also offers an eclectic array of new and old world wines, Italian craft beers and racy specialty cocktails.
Delicious! Great flavors! Love the variety!
Loved the sticky ribs. Cocktail was great. The Lemon sorbet was a nice touch in the drink. Will be back!
Excellent Italian food in a casual space. A neighborhood gem that keep the food authentic and unpretentious.
The gnocchi was amazing! The lightest texture with perfect sauce and pesto.
Been here before and we just love the food and ambience and the drinks are good as well
Excellent food, pizzas and broccoli rabe Caesar salad are great. The service, not so much.
Absolutely best fresh salads (Arugula or the brocolini ceasar) & pizza (zucchini or the maguerita), tap beers and wines! Best al fresco dining in Philly. Favorite restaurant. Friendly staff.
The wait staff and the Bronzino make this place a gem.
Fantastic food, per usual, though the slow start with our server nearly threatened a lovely outing. Eventually she got it together. And the chef delivered! Sad the eggs with polenta and pepperonata no longer are on the menu for brunch, but the blueberry and lemon ricotta waffle will give you LIFE!!!
We loved the vibe but that's about it. Parking was a nightmare since we had a 6:45 reservation on a Saturday. Ended up parking a couple blocks away after driving around the block a few times. We chose to sit inside and that was likely a mistake since outside looked more fun. Service was brusque. We also erred in our choice of entrees --- think pizza would have been better but all four in our party chose pasta dishes. I chose the bucatini because I had read some rave reviews --- very disappointed in it and it was incredibly oversalted. In fact all four of our pasta dishes were extremely salty. Not much else to say --- the pasta was fairly expensive and not worth it. My recommendation would be go to In Riva on a week night, sit outside, and order pizza.
sat outside but the sun was in my eyes
nice waitress but busy
We went prior an event at the Dell- Food was very good and the team very accommodating. I arrived early and asked to be seated in the bar area (the outside was booked as a very nice night) and we were told we would need to be patient as the bar was very busy. I didn't realize the bar team also took orders at the high tops but they worked as a team and made our night very special- They knew when we could wait and when to make sure we had everything we needed when dinner was served.
In Riva has become my go-to for any occasion. Dates, friend get-togethers, parents in town.... it’s the best. The patio is a fave spot. Never been disappointed here.
Loved In Riva! We finally visited after seeing it many times on our drive into the city, and we are so glad we did! We will be back. Food was delicious, service was great, and the restaurant is cool, casual, and comfortable.
Excellent food!!!! Service is usually spot on but we happened to get a server who was a bit scattered (for example, took quite a long time to even come over and when she finally did she immediately asked if we were ready to order....mind you, we didn’t even have menus). She then often disappeared which made ordering drinks difficult. Will not stop us from returning as she seems to be the exception to the generally attentive and excellent service. Again, food is great!!!
A perfect meal, as always!
I searched for a restaurant that would accommodate our 5 year old as well as us. We were surprised when we pulled up at how this little place was tucked away in a neighborhood. We chose to sit outside and were greeted within a few minutes by a friendly server. He gave us great recommendations as well as suggestions. We ordered a handful of appetizers, drinks (that were OUT of this world) and some entrees. The initial bite to every plate was out of this world. We enjoyed it so much we are already planning when we can come back!
A few suggestions for future diners: order appetizers they are so delicious and creative, get a cocktail (they are definitely well priced and they found combos that really go great together), the pasta is homemade and seriously great, the pizza smells so good and is worth every bite!
The food was not nearly as good as usual - the salads were dry and the artichokes were overcooked. With prices that high I expect much more.
Delicious brick oven pizza and a fabulous outside area to enjoy.
Service is terrible every time I go here. Our server was just standing at the bar staring out into space this last time. Times before that, the servers are usually all just hanging out at the bar and I have to go get one of them to ask for water. I've even been ignored by the bar tender while seated at the bar.
Beautiful outside area. Food was delicious.
Food was good, authentic, but they put olive oil on top of everything. My stomach did not love that the next day. Service was okay - we felt slightly rushed through our meal by the waitress. We had a Sunday night 5pm reservation and it was not busy when we got there. Overall it was good and I would go back.
There are “to die for” items at In Riva!!
The cucumber, mint and feta salad is just about the best, most harmonious tasting salad we have had anywhere along with their version of “Caesar Salad” with an achingly delicious dressing. The Chicken parm is a tour de force in red sauce that makes you wish for a big spoon and loaf of bread! And, then, there’s the pizza from the brick oven!
Little pickled chilies, hot hot long hots and pink anchovies that taste sweet on the tongue! We have never made it to dessert!
Great food. Ok ambiance. Smelled a little musty, but we've had a lot of rain and it's right on the river.
I am a loyal customer. I was there on Friday night and mostly had a pleasant experience. I ordered a Burrata pizza via Door Dash today. Instead I got a Burrata Caprese salad that cost me 32 dollars! It was small portioned and missing olives. I called the restaurant and was blown off saying they would not send me the pizza nor give me a refund. They blamed door dash. Did door dash prepare a crappy salad? I am very angry and see the quality of this restaurant has gone down hill
Ungodly noise level upon entering restaurant at 7 pm on a Friday night. 3 extremely young and inexperienced hostesses at front desk, neither of which escorted us to our rear table. Asked to be moved to another table, but would have had to wait 45 minutes, so stayed where we were assigned. Couldn’t even hear my friend talking, who was sitting right next to me.
Waiter was outstanding, and loved the food, but noise level needs to be addressed.
I enjoyed my meal here. Crispy artichokes were delicious! Broccolini Caesar was also pretty good. Service was prompt and attentive. I will definitely be back to try some pasta next time.
Tonight was great! Pizza we got was delicious and half price which was awesome. Drinks were delicious thanks to the bartender (Brian). Definitely coming back soon!
Food was wonderful as always. The wait time was a bit long, but they did seem busy. Overall, we had a great time
My first time there would definitely go back. There were 4 of us ate outside that was nice the food was terrific only thing I’d change was to order more food. W order 5 small plates and one pizza. Next time maybe add another pizza that was great.
Great food. Chess board. Crab spread. Amazing. Wait staff awesome.
I love In Riva! Cant beat the pizza and that view!
Daughter will be leaving for Australia for a month with SU
We never were waited on, so we left.
The salmon pizza was too salty. Had to ask server for water refill or extra bread
This is a great casual restaurant with consistently good food and really great pizza.
Lots of mosquitos on the patio, no repellent or anything to keep them away. Food was underwhelming and pricey for what it tasted like
Music is awful and played too loud
Alway enjoy this place and did again last night. Friendly, clean and most importantly, delicious!!
I didn't know what to expect when I bopped into this place but I left deeply impressed. I had a glass of Portugese rose that was so good it freaked me out. Pea soup, asparagus and pizza that I had all shared a fresh, tangy quality that left me with the impression that there is talent and thoughtfulness in the kitchen. Friendly, younger approachable staff. Good view of the river. Lots going on here. I'm going back.
