Thank you, Hoku’s. The sweets were delightful and we appreciate the selections.

Very disappointing!!! The brunch was the worst meal we had for the highest price we paid. Flies were swarming around our table which made the dining experience quite unpleasant. Food selection was few and the quality was subpar more like 3-Star hotel breakfast. Very tough prime rib, mushy lobster tail, nigiri wasn’t fresh, no miso soup, miso butter fish had an elastic chewy texture, just to name a few.

Valentine’s Day pris fixe was lovely, ambience was not that great at night with harsh lighting, but server was superbly friendly and accommodating.

We spent $600 for a dinner for two (with just three mid value glasses of wine) - and the meal was sad and below (way below) mediocre. It was a left-over 1980’s ambiance, not at all worth the price tag. No white table cloths, service polite but perfunctory, and the food was sad. We were there on February 13, and we were told that the only option was the prefix Valentine’s Day menu. Clearly the plates had been prepared well in advance of our arrival. The potatoes and asparagus were sad and overcooked. The meat was fine. The appetizers were unidentifiable. It’s a beautiful location which could be spectacular, but in its current configuration is a huge disappointment.

We so enjoy spending time at Hoku’s! Our dining experience from beginning to end is a very special experience filled with delicious surprises. We had the tasting menu and it didn’t disappoint. I upgraded to the pasta with truffles and it was delish! My husband upgraded to the lobster dish and loved it! We both loved every bite of this menu. The table had a beautiful view of the beach and was spectacular at sunset. After dark this place has a gorgeous ambiance inside as well. One of our excellent servers, Lisa remembered us from our last visit and presented our meal beautifully along with making time for a brief visit on her very busy shift. We will always make time to spend time dining at this very special restaurant.

Celebrated my FIL's bday here as they prepare to close this restaurant. The AYCE lobster is next level. The sushi and sashimi are fresh. The carving station with roast suckling pig and prime rib are also lip smacking. But my ultimate favorite was dessert.. the bread pudding with vanilla sauce is what you would expect from a 5 star hotel and restaurant. Its just absolute heaven.

Waitress barely smiled I guess she was irritated that our group went to the buffet line and only I stayed back. She said “I’m coming and asked if we’ve been here before” yes, we have. She some what softened up towards the end but just seemed tired and not want to be there. When my husband was finished with crab legs she made it a point to say “did you want to use the moist towel?” He saw it there and wanted to use a dry napkin first. She said it in a tone as if we don’t know any better. I still gave about a 30% tip hoping it would make her smile a little. For the 4 of us it was $650+. It was meant to feel like a special time to spend with our son before our trip but instead didn’t feel comfortable. The food was average as it was before, except my husband loves the lobster tails. The waitress we had the other time made the experience much much better which is why I came back. Don’t feel like it anymore, not if this is the experience you get.
