I dined at this restaurant on two successive evenings in order to entertain a business associate and then a friend. The food was excellent and imaginatively created and the portion sizes plentiful. The service was very friendly. It would be good, however, to have more warm options for vegetarians because my partner, who is vegetarian, found the choice of dishes very limited. The restaurant has quite an old-world feel and is in an excellent location, but it would have been good to have a bit more light in the evening; as it was, it proved extremely difficult to read the menu! Three of us went to 1212 for lunch during DineLA week. The staff there are very attentive and welcoming. I enjoyed the miso black cod which had an interesting flavor that I could not identify. The fish was tender and delicious. The blackberry cheesecake was a generous portion and really good! I ate the whole thing! We were there for over an hour and no one tried to rush us out. It was a very nice lunch. We came to this location all the time when it was Monsoons. It is still under the same ownership. More
