Clark and Schwenk, friends over the years, discussed starting a place of their own and traded ideas over what the menu would be like. Finally, at the beginning of 2007, they felt ready to strike out on their own and made that vision happen. “I looked around Atlanta and saw a need for a really good old-school restaurant,” Clark says. That restaurant would become C&S Oyster Bar, specializing in classic New York and Paris brasserie-style cuisine. Clark possesses a passion for French cuisine and claims that it comes from the French’s appreciation for balance. Their focus on vegetables, fish, and meat as the primary vehicles of flavor allow for emphasis to be placed on the freshness of the ingredients. Proper attire required. The following are not allowed: Beach flip flops, slides tank tops for men undershirt type t-shirts sweat pants and jogging pants athletic shorts clothing with inappropriate graphics clothing that is overly exposing midriff tops shorts that are too short.

    My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner courtesy of Executive Chef Chris Bischoff's well-run kitchen. Our server, Zahir Alam, was excellent. He was extremely attentive and since this was my first visit, answered all the questions I had assisting with my dinner selection. Zahir also enhanced our dining experience with conversation. We will definitely be back. Our meal this evening included appetizers of Moroccan-style shrimp and two Maine lobster tails. Our entrees were the Wild Atlantic salmon and the halibut (market fresh fare). The entrees included bok choy/ forbidden black rice and garlic spinach/fingerling potatoes respectively. And, because the picture look so appetizing online, I ordered a side of the triple cream mac & cheese...can you say, 'to die for'? I only had a taste, but it was magnificent. We had enough food to box leftovers which we will thoroughly enjoy tomorrow. This restaurant defines fine dining. Each dish was cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back.

    Great ambiance, fabulous server who kept our water glasses filled and giving suggestions when asked. We (4) arrived around 5:45 and was seated next to the beautiful lush greenery with water cascading down upon rocks. My only constructive criticism is we had to wait a rather long time just to receive the bar drinks two of us ordered. So I was concerned if the rest of the meal would be the same. They were not and the rest of the meal was served promptly and hot. I will return most definitely.

    Meal was delicious but the service was outstanding, best we’ve ever had in Atlanta after 20+ years. Theo was so attentive and sweet with our in-laws and they made our celebration of a 50th anniversary really special. We’ve already told the story to multiple neighbors who plan to go check out this Brookhaven location! Far exceeded our expectations.
