   An amazing dining experience at Food for Friends. A must visit place for vegan/ vegetarians looking for new and delicious choices in Brighton. The whole experience was first class from a friendly welcome to help with choice. It’s pricey for lunch but definitely worth it. Would highly recommend!

   Disappoint in the food, it wasn’t bad but having enjoyed the starters (soup and tofu) which were excellent the mains were what we would describe as a bit average (tofu curry and risotto). They weren’t awful but we were both a bit disappointed given the reputation of this restaurant. But the place has been doing good business for more years than I can remember so maybe it was us. Staff were lovely, service excellent and a nice atmosphere.

   Great selection of dishes, beautifully presented. Fresh, amazingly flavoursome and satisfying. Fine dining in a relaxed setting. Staff were polite and attentive.

    Really friendly service as always. Really pleased to see the menu has been updated. We are big fans but a lack of change in the menu for quite some time was disappointing. But anyway great new options now along with the old favourites still. Keep up the refreshes!

    The highlight for me was the service. We were served by two engaging, attentive, interested, but not obtrusive, adults. None of the amateur "hi guys" or surly incompetence we often find in younger, badly trained staff in overpriced restaurants elsewhere. The next best thing was the ambiance. No loud music, nicely soft acoustics, a gentle buzz, tables far enough apart to be private whilst retaining an intimate atmosphere. Lighting, on a drizzly dark evening, was spot on. Our starters were interesting and tasty, the mains less so, but not overpriced so we'll let that go. Overall, a stress-free and fun anniversary dinner ... topped off by the maitre d surprising us with a desert to mark the occasion. Move over Terre a Terre, Food for Friends is now our 'go to.'

    Fantastic staff atmosphere and food. The restaurant layed out a beutiful table dispay for me to surprise my friend who is 6 months pregnant and just found out she is having a girl. The food was amazing at being hospitable around my food intoleransea. The mushroom scallops and corn on the cob ribs were to die for. Massively reccomend food for friends i have been here many times over the years and they really outdid them selves this time . 5 stars and a huge thankyou to the restaurant for all the work they put in to making our experience exquisite.

    My curry was only luke warm when served, so I asked for it to be heated, I was left with the accompaning bread and rice. My daughter had nearly eaten her all her lunch when mine still hadn't reappeared, spoke to the waiting staff who informed me it was all being recooked? Why? By the time it was served my daughter had finished hers. This was supposed to be a special birthday lunch, which was noted on the booking but it turned out anything but. No mention of the birthday from the staff either. Would not visit again

    I'm an omnivore but I wanted to find a place that had lots of choices for a vegan friend. Because we both like to share food, we both ate vegan, in fact we shared every vegan starter on the menu. I thought the food was delicious and so dud my friend.

    We were in there on a Monday night so it was fairly quiet. The food was sublime. Just really awesome. Textures, spices, heat, presentation all spot on.. and SO filling. We met 3 service staff, 2 of which were super bubbly and attentive and one who was a little less enthusiastic but polite and professional. We did wait quite a while for our order to be taken was really my only niggle. Would definitely visit again.

    One of my favourite places to eat, not just in Brighton. Always a warm welcome, beautiful food and comprehensive wine list. Our waitress was particularly lovely and made the evening very enjoyable.

    We had a wonderful evening sat in the oval window , the food was outstanding and the manager and staff tendered to all our needs. This will not be our only visit we love Brighton and this was a great place to enjoy a tasty Vegetarian dinner

    Just a quick thank you for last night and your very kind offer of the champagne after Helenne accepted my proposal! It all started at F4F 11 years ago on the 18th February 2012 when she finally agreed to go out with me, I knew that as a vegan booking her this restaurant all those years ago was part of my master plan and it worked so it seemed very fitting to return there 11 years to the day and ask her to marry me! It will always be somewhere we’ll think of as special and yesterday evening was as magical as it gets!

    Really nice lunch - we didn't have mains but a lot of starters, nibbles and sides to share. Delicious and every dish perfect. Lovely service, made us feel welcome and relaxed straight away. Definitely recommend this lovely place.

    Lovely meal out with the family while on an overnight break away to Brighton - had read good reviews took a risk with a vegan restaurant as while most of us love vegetarian/vegan, I was hoping my meat loving son would be happy - well he stated it was one of the best burgers he’s had! The Sri Lankan curry was delicious! Overall it had a lovely ambience, location, great service, friendly staff, lovely wine and cocktails and varied tasty menu. The tarte tatin was also a highlight!

    The barperson and general manager were so welcoming on arrival, however, the service from other waiting staff wasn’t great. Everyone front of house looked really smart, but the member of staff serving us was in a jumper and blue denim jeans which let the vibe down. They also weren’t very attentive - we had to call them over to order drinks/food, and we asked for water which never came. When they came to take our first order they just stood there staring at us until we said hello, there was no welcome or introduction etc. which was really awkward. I know the restaurant’s reputation is great, so I’m sure this was a one-off, but it was our first time here and we both said we probably wouldn’t recommend it to friends based on the service. The food was good, the Garlic Confit Sourdough was amazing, as were the olives and the Apple Tarte Tatin. The decor was nice too. I used to work in hospitality, so I get how hard it is, and I’m not saying this is a bad restaurant at all. I just think there are other places in the area that do just as nice food with better service.

    Food for friends is always a great experience. I hadn't been for a season so nice to try the new menu. Loved the deep fried capers. The banana blossom main was huge + a little bland, although the batter was technically perfect. Had we not already had the sauce in a starter probably would have enjoyed more. Some seasoning lacking but presented beautifully. Our other main the beetroot curry was rich and warming, good flavouring but difficult to lap all the sauce up on a flat plate, a shallow bowl would be better. Staff/service was A*
