Five Mile Stone is my go to place for great food and service in a relaxed atmosphere for a reasonable price. I highly recommend it for a fun time with friends.
I ordered a drink when the server came over. I never received it and then when he finally came back I said I wanted a Guinness and he hadn't even ordered it. We waited 30 minutes for our drink to arrive. The food came out quick though and it was pretty good. We decided against having another drink because the first one took so long. We couldn't find our server to get the check and the busboy got it for us and ran our card for us. It wasn't even that busy so I'm not sure why service was so bad.
Even with a reservation they tried to seat us at a table just by the door and only “found” another table when we insisted. Loud, even upstairs. Chicken wings very dried and the avocado toast just ok. The only good thing was the Bellini that my friend had. I won’t be repeating anytime soon
Service was ok at best. Food was good. too much salt and butter on everything. wasn't anything special.
The Shepard's Pie offered little meat and lots of bland mashed potatoes. It was not a flavorful dish.
Stick with the burger - its good although expensive ($18) for what this place js which is a bar that has food. Nice selection of beer.
This is a bar/restaurant with a lot of character. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was very loud on a Saturday evening so it was not the optimal place for conversation. Would definitely return.
The oysters were truly disgusting, and I will always eat oysters -- these I left on my plate. Burger redeemed my experience.
First time here, on Christmas Day.
Great ambiance and super friendly staff. Enjoyed everything about experience.
Always a pleasure eating brunch here. Staff and managers are great. No complaints!
Love, love, love the food!!!!
Was amazing and by far our favorite NY bar. Great food, and great place to watch football too!
Can be loud Friday night and Saturday night. To avoid it stay on the 1st floor. Great food. Burgers are great, so are crab cakes, calamari, and pizza. Duck was so so. Owner always checks on our table and staff are helpful. A good part of the year they get fresh lobster for dinner. Love that! They also are handicapped accessible.
Four of us ate here and happened to arrive in time for the half price beer and wine, which was nice. Our server was very attentive, and a manager also checked on us throughout the meal. Two at the table got the ribs and loved them. They were great about allowing switches on the types of fries and both the tater tops and the shoestring fries were good. The third person got a burger and enjoyed it. I ordered the pasta and vegetables, which would have been great except that the dish was overseasoned with peppercorns that were so spicy they made my eyes water. Not sure why that was necessary when there was salt and pepper at the table. Prices were reasonable for a NY restaurant. Would go back again.
Great food and beer + great $1 oysters. Gem of a place in UES!
Food and service were excellent. Servers were in Halloween costumes, which was fun. The fish tacos were the best.
The staff is very welcoming and accommodating. Have eaten here many times because the quality of the food is consistently excellent. I highly recommend it for casual dining.
Looks nothing like their site photos. Layer of grease everywhere, 150% casual, TVs, friendly host, not the most hospitable nor professional bartenders—both were interested in joking and conversing than providing proper dining service, no water, and unapproachable. Happy hour was convenient but oysters were not fresh. Ambiance is noisy with TVs. Convenient and fitting for families and tourists.
It is a very nice bar to see a game and catch up with friends. The prices were decent. The staff was great and I appreciated that the music was at a good level. I could hear my conversations which was very nice.
I was very disappointed this evening. It was not very busy and the food took forever. My duck was very tough and not up to its usual standards and they over cooked the burger and had to redo it. The Kitchen Staff was the problem, and they need to be made aware as there is Too Much competition in this City to NOT be on point with simple items!
I assume you have a new “chef” the Caesar salad, which I use to live was totally different in a bad way
The hostess who took my reservation was especially nice and accommodating, both on the phone and in person. Food was delicious, everyone in our party of 6 really enjoyed their meal. The portion were especially large. I had fish and chips and couldn’t finish everything . Will definitely come back!!!
The gathering of friends on the reserved table was very idealistically appropriate for it set the mood for a wonderful gathering. It is most certainly a place that I will be visiting again. The service was exemplary with a certain casual vibe that was very accommodating but still keeping a personal amendable customer care to the restaurant that seems to be diminishing in this new wave or dining out.
This is a bar, it is NOT a restaurant!
Our server was Sandy she was super great, she explained our entrees since we asked, she was absolutely attentive, checked on us. The Food, good we ordered jack daniels burger and lobster roll, all good! Recommend this place. We sat upstairs, indoors, nice bar upstair!
The oysters were on point! All the food was phenomenal and our server Shannon and Noah were exceptional! A must try!
Went for the lobster special. Great value and great taste! All fresh, good place to meet friends and have a few drinks and apps too. Wait staff are very attentive and friendly as are the managers, Robbie & Rory they’ll always come by ur table to say hello and make sure everything is satisfactory. Definitely will continue going here.
The avocado toast is always good here. Unfortunately my crabcakes benedict had shells in them and I couldn't finish.
The food and service is consistently excellent. I especially enjoy their burgers and shoe string fries, yummy. And when in season lobster Monday is always a hit.
The food wasn’t the best quality, avocado toast was very soggy and the chickpea burger was pretty dry and bland. The waitress was lovely and the overall ambiance was good. Just disappointed in the food.
Love this place - the food is great and the prices are VERY reasonable! The place is also super cute. I've been several times for brunch and almost didn't write a review because I don't want to let the cat out of the bag. My favorite brunch place in the city!
Great brunch meal. Excellent service
Great drink selection, good comfort food menu. A relaxing, friendly environment.
Recommended to us. We were all very happy. Good food, good service, nice atmosphere. Will definitely go back
Their whiskey selection is amazing and they have some pretty exotic whiskies for very reasonable prices. The food and service was great but I’ll be coming back for the whiskies!
Rudest bartender ever! Also he made us order the minute we sat down, even though the kitchen was still open for another 45 minutes. Gave us beers that weren’t even cold and was upset when we asked for a glass. He put bacon on our burger and neither of us eat pork. He was the worst. Worst experience ever and I will never come back.
The food was surprisingly excellent for a bar! Oysters were on point and the price was $1.00 per!! The staff were excellent, it was my first time and I’ll be back.
Group of 6 went for brunch. Very good value, free beverage with every order, very accommodating about switching tables to a more comfortable spot. Will definitely make this a regular Sunday stop when I'm in NY.
They put us upstairs. It was way too loud. We were meeting people we hadn’t seen in years and we were shouting the whole time. It was very disappointing. The food was just so-so.
The staff is friendly making you feel very comfortable and accommodates any change you would like made to a dish. My favorite place for a week day comfortable meal at a reasonable price. I love lobster Monday’s when in season. Great value for an even greater lobster dinner. A fun sports bar at affordable prices on the upper east side.
