We had a great night at Averna Italian Steakhouse in Rye. The owner came over, shook our hands, and asked what we thought of everything. You could tell he genuinely cared. Our waiter was easy to talk to, always had a smile, and every recommendation he made was a hit.
We started with the tuna tartare and wedge salad, then went all in with the ribeye, lobster, and short rib. We shared the mac and cheese, creamed spinach, and truffle fries, and I’d order all three sides again. We finished with the apple dessert with vanilla ice cream, bread pudding, and toffee chocolate lava cake. A double espresso macchiato was the perfect way to end the meal.
The food was excellent, and the people made the night. Easy five stars. We’ll definitely be back.
