Wanted a good meal while in Montreal - outside of the smoked meat/bagel/poutine line of meals. Bar St Denis was it. It was fantastic food in a casual atmosphere. Great service, delicious dishes, fantastic wine. The music… late 70s / early 80s r&b was perfect! Would definitely recommend, would definitely go back.

We were fortunate to have an upstairs table (sufficiently quiet) with an outstanding waiter who served delicious food. My mushroom pasta was filled with flavor, and the apple crumble dessert was terrific. My husband can highly recommend the fried calamari (better than most) and the ice cream. But we agree—the highlight was our waiter from Peru.

We love coming to Montreal for the people, the history, and - most importantly - the food. Our visit to Maison Boulud this evening was as exceptional as was our first visit years ago. The ambience, the food and - most especially - the service (thanks Gilbert!) was, as always, outstanding. The pace of the meal is never rushed. The menu selection is varied with something for everyone. Everything we had (see photos) was flavorful, fresh, creative and beautifully presented. Our server, Gilbert, was exceedingly friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. He was great to talk to and even found out that my birthday was the previous week and brought out the restaurant's renowned madeleines on a Happy Birthday plate with a candle. THAT is thoughtful service. The atmosphere is sophisticated without being stuffy. Some people were more "dressed up" and others were more casual and everyone fit in. The space just lends itself to a wonderful evening. Combine all of the above and you get an unforgettable evening. Is it inexpensive? I rate restaurants (too many on TA to count) based on one thing: the price/value ratio (i.e. do you get what you pay for). For me dinner at Maison Boulud delivers every time and tonight was no exception. We're coming back to Montreal in July and have already booked a table at Maison Boulud. There's a reason we keep coming back. Find out for yourself. You won't be disappointed. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

What a beautiful discovery. We went to Molenne upon a friend’s recommendation. We are so glad we did. The service was great and the food Is delicious. The restaurant is not very noisy so you can have a comfortable conversation and is perfect for a date night or a double date. We shall definitely go back !!

    We were seated immediately . Every staff member was extremely polite and kind! We received our drinks immediately and were slap served bread with oil and balsamic. Our questions and preferences were accommodated with suggestions and we ordered . Our food came promptly and was excellent. Also my Old Fashioned with Marino cherries was one of the best I’ve ever had. The pizza, salad with cranberries. And chicken Parmesan were all amazing . We ordered one of each and shared and it was a lot of food! Took home leftovers! Great ambience ; beautiful chandelier . We had a quiet area upstairs with reservation at 6:30pm . Got very busy as we were leaving so 7 would be a good time also ! Will return!
