Best Restaurants for Spicy Food in Martinez

I hosted a themed dinner with friends at Flores on the evening of October 24th. The staff was incredibly attentive before the dinner even began. I made a reservation for the 10 of us. They called me in advance earlier that day to confirm and to check in about any special needs the group might have. When I arrived to dinner, they sat me immediately and assured me they would guide the rest of my guests to our table as I waited. From the moment I sat down I was attended to by our waiter. I had the Andariega cocktail to start. It was their interpretation of a sour, my favorite cocktail to order. There was a perfectly restrained balance of sweetness and sour flavor, only made better by the velvety mouthfeel of every sip. I followed it with another favorite, the sangria, which is always a generous pour and never disappoints. For food, I ordered the guacamole as a starter. It was bright and chunky with tortilla chips that tasted homemade. The star, of course, were the wild mexican shrimp fajitas. This dish is listed on the menu as “camarones”, unassuming in its simplicity. Juicy, tail-on shrimp were cooked perfectly and smothered in diabla sauce, a smoky and warmly spiced bliss. The onions and peppers were caramelized with a light char so they melted in my mouth with every bite. The side of rice and beans perfectly rounded out a meal that satisfied every individual taste bud. The ingredients throughout were incredibly fresh and the value was delivered in every element from beginning to end. The service was consistently attentive throughout. This location has beautiful decor and warm, low lighting that brought the ambiance. I’m so grateful for an incredible evening and look forward to my next visit to Flores Emeryville.

The experience was good. It started off a little rocky because the restaurant could not verify the reservation but it was eventually located and Mrs. Smelly came over and apologized for the mix up. After that the rest of the evening was great. The waiter we had was so awesome. I cannot recall his name but he was light-skinned with braids. He was very attentive and even brought a small dessert and played the Stevie Wonder Birthday song for my daughter making it personalized to her. I greatly appreciated that gesture. It made a huge impact. I will be back.

Our first time here, enjoyed it. It was a little pricey but it was worth it.

Service was warm, welcoming, attentive, and efficient! Cocktails are superb as well as the food. I loved it!
