Found this on Open Table as we were driving thru. Looking for something casual and close to the highway. The River Pavilion was wonderful! We had a beautiful view of the river. The food was delicous, starting with the potato chips that were brought to the table as soon as we sat down. The ember Roasted seafood was delicious, with some perfect sourdough toast. The broth was flavored with herbs a just a hint of heat. The clam chowder was a generous portion and had plenty of clams. The wedge salad with shrimp delicious also. We will definitely stop again.

The Storyteller is a really nice restaurant and bar inside the Inn at Bellefield - a beautiful new suites hotel just outside Hyde Park, NY. They have an unusual menu that seems oriented to light fare (flatbread, vegetable and bread boards, etc) but they also have some substantial options including burgers. I had a vegetable platter with pita and hummus, and my husband had the beef hand pies. We were both pleased; my husband's meal (which also included a composed salad) was outstanding. The bread (with salted butter) should not be missed. The bar is well stocked with draft beer, wine, and spirits -- and the cocktail list is fresh and original. (We ate at 7 pm on a Monday evening. Later in the week the space might become a bit louder as the restaurant and bar are in one large and open area off the lobby.) We were very happy with our experience, and we would happily return to both the hotel and the restaurant.
