Starting with our server Sal assisted by a fantastic woman from Columbia whose name has slipped us - we were taken care of at the highest service level with just the right amount of levity to keep us all warmly laughing. We started with wines poured from the bottle at our table- something we love - that Sal personally attended to. Then on to a basket of warm bread - yes, it's a no no - but do it here, the bread is lovely and the trio of flavored butters and trio of salts made it an experience! Next we did stacked cubes of pork belly, perfectly seasoned, and wisely not overly fatty, followed by a tureen of french onion soup and I say tureen because it was so much more of an excellent presentation than a 'crock' common is some establishments - the broth was savory and rich and the crouton stayed toasted under a blanket of melted cheese, Husband has the mushroom risotto which was simply exactly what you dream of when you order this dish - textured, creamy, full flavored, comforting. My dish was the star of the show, seared scallops that were the best that we have had in years with a corn and pomegranate relish that we could not stop marveling over. We simply could not fit coffee, port or dessert on top of this meal, so we thanked the staff warmly and said 'see you next time!'
