We are a family owned business located in the centre of York by the River Ouse. Our bar and bistro has gained a reputation for a wide range of beers and spirits coupled with an excellent selection of wines and champagnes. Close to The Grand Opera House and city centre, Plonkers is an ideal place to meet with friends or colleagues for a relaxed drink.Weekends at Plonkers can have a party atmosphere where you can relax after work with friends. Upstairs seats approximately 26 but we can cater for buffets for around 40 people with some standing. We now have our outside riverside area, where we serve food and drinks 10am – 9pm weather permitting.Please note that although Open Table appears to let you book downstairs or upstairs, this is a glitch with open table, and whilst we will do our best to accommodate requests, no specific tables can be booked as its down to phasing on the day,

    All 4 people had the 2 courses for £26. We were given some mixed olives, but no bread to go with them or our starters, which surprised me. 3 people had the chorizo burgers & all said they were amazing. I had the sea bass which was delicious. The fresh vegetables were cooked perfectly (with a bit of bite in them).Mashed potato were very tasty but had several lumps in it. We will definitely be going back again.
