Best Restaurants for Foodies in College Area

My husband and I made a reservation for our 10 year anniversary. Fortunate Son did not disappoint. The ambiance is so cool and special. The beers were delicious and different than the normal SD menus. The food was so delicious, it was hard to put the chopsticks down. We ordered shrimp fried rice, beef lo mein, and orange chicken. All of the plates were incredible, but I have to highlight the shrimp fried rice. It was so garlicky and delicious, but best of all, was how the shrimp was cooked. It had a crisp to it without being overcooked. Totally recommend Fortunate Son for a spectacular meal and experience.

The Lasagna is the best in town. You won’t be able to finish it because the portion is so generous. All good because leftovers are better due to the seasoning permeating the food overnight.

We had a wonderful anniversary celebration! The food was fantastic, the nonalcoholic drinks were tasty, and they brought out an ice cream to share with a sparkler in it in celebration of our day. It was very nice, and the service was impeccable! Thank you for a lovely evening!

Food and service were top notch. I highly recommend.

Cheese wheel Monday nights was spectacular. We had a linguine with salmon, cherry tomatoes, asparagus in a lobster sauce prepared tableside in a giant Parmesan “wheel”. All 5 of us got it, all 5 of us loved it. The pasta and other ingredients vary by the week (except for the wheel of course)
