Best Family Style Restaurants in Downtown / Union Square

China Live was a great find. The restaurant's interior design is very appealing and the atmosphere vibrant with at least three different food prep areas visible. The menu is very varied with exceptional appetizer and dessert sections that add to eclectic main dishes. Although our server was not too attentive, the overall experience was exceptional.

We've eaten at Botega a few times in our visits to San Francisco. It never disappoints. The food is so good! Service is good. Highly recommend for good Vietnamese cuisine.

Great place to have dinner with friends before a show or to just sit at at the bar for a cocktail and a bite. Festive ambiance, central location, and consistently excellent service. Food is reliably good everytime, especially the calamari, linguini with clams, and the branzino. Well varied quality wine list and well crafted cocktails. Last night we were headed to the Warfield; the server was so attentive and made sure we got out in time. Bartender walked a second cocktail to our table and gave it to me gratis when there was some confusion about the first order. This has been a go-to place for us for a while and we always have a good time here.

Fantastic experience at Bourbon Steak! The food was outstanding, but the service truly made the evening. Pete was wonderful—knowledgeable, attentive, and upbeat. The entire staff was incredibly friendly, and multiple managers stopped by throughout our meal to make sure we were taken care of and enjoying ourselves. One manager even struck up a great conversation with us and surprised us with dessert on the house! Exceptional food and hospitality—we’ll definitely be back!

Server and staff were very friendly. Food was amazing with good portions. From aesthetic, to drinks and quality. Great location. Definitely will be coming back! Drinks, apps and desserts were all great! Try the Matcha Tres Leches & Chicken Karate!
