Best Comfort Food Restaurants in Borrego Springs

Had another great dinner. The sea bass and prawns were top notch. Sat outside. Wonderful evening. Had a great time.

Wonderful addition to the Safari Park! My husband and I have been members for 46 years, and the 2 meals we've had at Mkutano House in 2026 are at the top of the list of dining experiences we've had, not just at the Safari Park but ANYWHERE. The Africa-inspired food is delicious, beautifully prepared and presented, healthy and flavorful. The attention to detail in the architecture and decor enhances the experience, and of course being able to sit and watch the elephants is an unmatched bonus to the whole experience. What a terrific way for humans, animal ambassadors, and cultures to interact joyfully. Thank you!

We had a great time. Seemed like they were a bit short-staffed but the waiters did a good job of trying to fill the void. The food was delicious and the beer was on point. No complaints.

I and my wife went for dinner, and our experience was amazing. We started with the elite appetizer; a perfect balance of spice, citrus, and creaminess. For the main, we got the prime rib (available only certain days) and the steak frites. Both cooked to perfect and offered an amazing experience for each bite. Lastly, we ended with the Autumn Cinnamon Roll, and it tastes exactly like a comfy autumn day, which we paired with their delicious coffee. The honey whipped goat cheese, earthy, and citrus notes blended perfectly with the fig jam, pumpkin browned butter, apple chip, and pecans. Our server server, Jessica, was very attentive, kind, and provides excellent recommendations that made the night that much better. P.S. they also have amazing brunch.
