What Insiders Are Saying
The new and improved Dirt Candy location on the Lower East Side is bigger and shinier. And it’s still really, really good.
Best Bruch in NYC
Really, they have delicious Tempora poached eggs, tacos, sandwiches, coffee cake, crepes, bloody Marys in three varieties, and amazing coffee. A great brunch for everyone!
We don't get to NYC very often and haven't been to Dirt Candy since it moved to it's new bigger location. There are almost no words to describe how wonderful it is to dine here. The creativity of the food is unmatched. Delish!!!
Staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. First for vegetarian dining typically im a meat eater but its nice for a change also for the health benefits!
First trip to NY, summer vacation
would love if it wasnt a tasting menu, but thats their only option
The food and service were impeccable! Was not pricey for the experience. If you do the 9 course, settle in for about 3 hours.
The drinks are overpriced, and the sandwich was just "regular delicious," but the side dishes and breads were unimaginably good--especially Korean BBQ broccoli (I might be mischaracterizing this, but just order any broccoli options you can).
Wonderful brunch at Dirt Candy for my sister's birthday. We
All the food we tasted was delicious and creative, I would particularly recommend: the tomato biscuits, the korean broccoli, the beet scones, the California crackers (kale waffles)
Our waitress brought us dessert (cucumber sorbet - perfect since the rest of the food was very filling) with a candle for my sister's birthday.
Wonderful vegetarian dinner experience with many fun details and surprises. Unconventional, playful presentation of the dishes. Every dish of outstanding quality. In every aspect worth it’s money!
Great experience and well worth going. The food is exquisite and the chefs table seating watching the maestros craft the dishes is great. Highly recommend and wish there was a Dirt Candy in Cardiff, Wales!
Food is quite salty, heavily friend. Food is okay, nothing great. Cool menu but the food does not live upto the hype.
Never disappoints. My favorite vegan place in the city. Lots of flavor. Gratuitous in the best way. Nice waitstaff
Dirt Candy is great, especially for brunch. The food is fun and exciting, and the drinks are playful and refreshing. I'd highly recommend it.
Service was great. Food was insanely delicious. The price was really reasonable. Did the 5 course with wine pairings for just over $200. Great experience.
Service and ambiance was great but food was terrible. Even for an average priced restaurant this would have been ok food but given that the restaurant is pricey, this is awful.
Dirt Candy was very accomodating and the perfect place to celebrate our birthday. The courses were well-prepared and thoughtful. We were seated at the high-top, countertop table and a couple of the food preparers spoke to us. The food preparation is excellent. Our waitress was friendly and the ambience was sleek and sophisticated. They had the four-course tasting menu and my partner is vegan so they tailored it for him. We both loved the entire tasting menu. Highly recommend.
I first read about Dirt Candy as being a cool NYC dining experience and it did not disappoint! The staff were very attentive and the Garden Patch (5 courses) was plenty of food for 2 people. We also thoughly enjoyed reading their cookbook created by the restaurant's founder Amanda, that also shared the store of how Dirt Candy was first created. I was also pleased to learn on arrival that it is a Vegetable Restaurant, meaning vegetable-focused, not a Vegetarian Restaurant. This made the dishes much more interesting, unique and above all - DELICIOUS! Who knew cauliflower layered cake could be so divine?! Thank you for the wonderful experience! We certainly won't forget it and look forward to coming back next time we're in NYC!
One of my fav veggie places in NYC. Food is outstanding, great atmosphere!
It was amazing! Some of the most interesting vegetable preparations I have ever tasted
Everything here is so special. The care and creativity put into every dish is amazing.
The chef took it to a whole different level, can’t explain the texture the details the flavors of the dishes, I’m not vegetarian but I’ll definitely go again , and again , and again. I love this place it was such a great fun experience, the service and the staff are all marvelous.
Dirt candy was incredible! We would highly recommend this experience to anyone interested in the flavorful power of vegetables!
On my own and loved my time there. The flavours made me think.
The staff are a family.
Something always blows my mind here; this time it was the "imitation caviar'. We did the larger tasting menu and left very full and pleased with our service. We sat at the chef's bar and were really surprised with how quiet and orderly the kitchen was. Hats off to Chef Amanda because her team is rocking it! Will definitely be back.
We had a wonderful time! The food was delicious and we felt like we were on vacation
The noise level was not “energetic” - it was a bit too loud
Great food!! Fantastic tastes. We were only able to get reservations for Brunch but would definitely lie to try everything on the evening menu.
Most interesting food, tastes and displays. Quite unique.
Don’t go looking for a veggie burger. Much better than that.
Staff were friendly and helpful
Excellent food, service and the ambiance was perfect. We were sat at the bar around the kitchen and it was great to see the food being prepared, a very relaxed, well run kitchen. Outstanding.
You are taken on a taste journey that is exhilaratingly varied. From smoked garlic infused olive oil to the fried broccoli, your taste buds are in for a ride of their lives!
The food was mostly excellent and the premise is delightful. There were some really outstanding items, like broccoli “hot dogs” and brussel sprout fajitas. Everything was good, but the cauliflower cake was just super sugary and the mushroom chocolate didn’t completely work for dessert.
The brunch was a nice blend of creative dishes thoughtfully prepared and served. I especially enjoyed the drinks that accompanied the meal. They were veggie healthy and fun!
Delicious food and beautiful restaurant - service was great! The brunch Prix fixe was wonderful- this carrot crepes were so tasty!
Love love love! Great food, service, experience even for a non-veg!
Simply stunning, what a fabulous culinary experience. Not cheap but worth every single cent.
This was amazing. We went for our 10 year anniversary and had the 9 course. Every course was so unique and for a vegan person, often at restaurants we are picking and modifying entrees. This was just a fabulous experience and the service was fabulous too. Definitely recommend!
I was hesitant about a whole meal of just veggies but it was delicious, and I will definitely go back to try the rest of the food. Very fun and tasty
Nothing short of fantastic!
