The food was incredible and the presentation was fantastic. The chef did a great job presenting and explaining each plate and answered all our questions about the preparation of each item as well as some traditions and history. An experience we will never forget!

Chef Bernardo “JR” Oao devoted years to mastering the art of sushi, learning every detail of kitchen work, and steadily climbing the ranks through discipline, curiosity, and determination.

In January 2022, JR opened his own food truck and in just a few short months, that dream expanded into his first brick-and-mortar restaurant in Wailea, which opened its doors in November 2022.

Building on this momentum, Chef JR continued to grow. He launched his second restaurant, Oao Sushi Go, in Kahului—bringing fast, high-quality sushi to the heart of Maui and expanding his vision for accessible, elevated Japanese cuisine.

Now, with the opening of Hachi By Oao, JR marks the next evolution of his culinary journey. Hachi represents his deepest commitment to the craft: a return to traditional Japanese sushi with a focus on pristine ingredients, and refined technique. Here, guests experience sushi as Chef JR believes it should be—intentional, elegant, and crafted with heart.

At Marlow we specialize in artisan style, neapolitan inspired sourdough pizza, as well as locally sourced meats and vegetables. Our menu, space, and offerings change seasonally. We aim to bring you modern yet rustic meals to be shared. Chef/Owner Jeff Scheer and wife Kaili, have always loved to entertain at their home in Kula. The concept for the restaurant is an extension of that warm hospitality felt while sharing good food and wine around a table of family and friends. When the restaurant industry shut down in March of 2020, the pair began making sourdough pizza out of their outdoor oven at home. Milling whole wheat berries from a farm in Arizona, hand stretching mozzarella, whole-animal butchery, growing artichokes and summer squash for toppings - it was a true labor of love. What began as a ritual has grown into a restaurant. We look forward to seeing you at Marlow soon.

Dine at the most breathtaking oceanfront setting in Kapalua Resort. Chef/Restauranteur Peter Merriman has brought his unique style of Hawaii Regional Cuisine to Maui in 2008. A pioneer in the “Farm to Table” concept, Peter serves only the freshest products, at least 90% of which are locally grown or caught, using sustainable methods.

Reservations are released 60 days prior at 6am HST. This includes all holidays. We cannot accommodate parties larger than 8 people or split reservations in our main dining room.

For a more casual dining experience, join us at The Point, our oceanside dining location offering a casual menu. The Point opens daily at 3pm and is weather depending. Reservations are not needed or accepted for The Point. The Point Happy Hour: 3pm to 5pm with Happy Hour at the Bar from 4pm - 5pm daily.

We had an amazing experience! We surprised our kids by flying to Maui from Indiana on the day they got engaged so we could take them to dinner! Everyone was amazing! They seated us close by and we were able to surprise everyone them! Everyone was congratulating them and it was a very special night🥰.

Another wonderful experience at Spago’s! The menu was excellent, the ambiance was beautiful, and our waiter, Peter, was absolutely outstanding.
