Excellent food...Tremendous service - server, Germany, was EXCELLENT
I went here for my birthday dinner. Food was great. Crab cakes are phenomenal. Our server Bridget was great too. I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant and I will be visiting again.
The service was horrible which is too bad because the food- when it actually arrived- wasn’t bad. This was the second time we went there and the service was so abysmal that we won’t be back. Don’t go!!
Our first time, Had a great time and the food was delicious and atmosphere was great. ❤❤❤
The food was good the service was friendly but spotty at times. It was a lovely night on the square so that made up for it.
The service was horrible from the kitchen staff being excessively slow. The waiter was fine. The manage corrected the problem by comping our desserts and appetizers. The food was as I remember it being pretty good although my dates lobster was kinda small to be a 2lbs one.
This restaurant had delicious seafood and waitstaff was very pleasant. However, the place was extremely loud making conversation nearly impossible. Also, it seems the bar and kitchen cannot keep up with the demand of the huge number of customers there on a Saturday night. Lobster bisque arrived before cocktails and appetizers. The explanation being that the bar had run out of glasses and the bisque was ready so they brought it out since the appetizers had to be prepared on the line, which was backed up. So yes it was a good dinner, but not without issues. The couple next to us arrived when we did and we had finished dinner and dessert and they were still awaiting their entrees, so again they may need some tweaking to deserve a higher rating.
Devon Seafood Grill went out of their way to help us celebrate a milestone birthday. Four of us had excellent service and very good food. Two of us enjoyed premium crab cakes, and the other two guests raved about their perfectly prepared scallops. Three servers tended to our table, always anticipating our needs and not hovering. We so enjoyed our lunch at Devon Seafood Grill.
We came to Devon for $1 oyster, when we ordered we were informed by the waitress and manager that $1 oyster is not available during the night time happy hour. According to the manager, corporate changed that offer a year ago. Which we knew was a lie because we came on March 8th and 9th and was able to order $1 oysters. Anyways I reached out to Devon on Instagram and they said $1 oyster is available during Happy Hour during both happy hour times. So the manager of the Philadelphia location is ruining Devon's business. We would've ordered more oysters but because the manager said the $1 oyster is not available, we could only do one round. I won't be recommending this place to my friends if the manager is going to lie about happy hour deals all because she sent an oyster shucker home. Either they didn't want to shuck the oysters or just didn't want to give us 4 dozen. We were very disappointed.
The food was delicious. Our waiter was not good, very inattentive, mostly ignored us. I requested utensils and a napkin- and finally had to grab them from an empty table nearby.
My husband an I dined Friday night, April 12th. Our reservation was for 5:45pm. We were seated immediately. Our appetizer, fried calamari, came out quickly ... barely a wait. I had the crab cakes which had chunks of meat and minimal filler. My husband had the cioppino. Both dishes were very good. Dessert, the creme brûlée, was exceptional. Incredibly creamy. Our waitress was attentive as well as management. We enjoyed our night out.
Devon Seafood Grille is a reliable lunchtime restaurant. I like their food. They offer soup and salad combos, soup and 1/2 sandwich combos and many sandwiches and entrees. That means you have a great choice at lunchtime, whether you want just something small or more of a dinner style meal. On my most recent visit, I had the lobster rolls. This has been my least favorite menue selection because there was not that much lobster and they added yellow corn. I have ordered their crab cakes, which I still think are great. We ate at a window seat and with the windows open, it was too noisy for my age (70). That was my mistake, not theirs. My husband had the lobster bisque, which he said was delicious and the 1/2 turkey club. Our friend had the clam chowder and salad and she was quite satisfied. They still bring you a mini muffin after being seated and that is still a nice treat. Our waitress was nice and that has always been our experience.
Devon Seafood Grille is not a cheap place to eat for lunch...BUT YOU GET YOUR MONEY'S WORTH (anyone who's eaten there can understand).
Patrick served us and he was fantastic. Our glasses has lipstick stains on them but Patrick quickly apologized and exchanged them. The food was just DELICIOUS!!!!. The wine DELICIOUS!
Absolutely NO COMPLAINTS...NOT EVEN THE GLASSES BECAUSE THAT HAPPENS EVERYWHERE.
I WILL RECOMMEND AND I WILL COME BACK WITH MY HUSBAND AND DAUGHTER.
Our server, Isaac was amazing. The food that he recommended was delicious, he was very accommodating. The food came in a decent time and was hot.
Meeting of old friends
Took about an hoir and 15 min to get our food after we ordered . Otherwise good!
Food, service, value were all good, as usual, and keeps us cominget back.
Old friend from out of town wanted seafood. We thought immediately of Devon where we have eaten several times. As usual the fish was tasty and fresh and the wine list was comprehensive. Our server was friendly and helpful.
The food was excellent - especially the lump crab cakes. Recommend arriving for happy hour food and drinks.
Service was very slow. server was not engaging with a flat affect. My steak that i asked to be medium well was bleeding on the inside burnt on the outside. potatoes was burnt. i sent the plate back and it was returned with the SAME steak dried out and unappealing looking. my family potatoes were burnt as well. the manager comp my meal however no resolution to my family meals. I wont return.
While I would recommend Devon's to anyone that loves seafood, I would never recommend in on a weekend. It was overly crowded (not their fault), and our food took a long time to arrive. I gave the food a Fair, because they did not have their usual fries and the replacement was disappointing. Some of them were a bit soggy and not at all like the crisp ones they typically have during the week.
Presentation of the plates was poor considering the price paid.
Seemed to be short staffed... We sat for at least 30 minutes without being greeted by wait staff, no bread, no water. After ordering drinks, it took at least another 15-20 minutes. Food was good. Thought our waitress got lost with our change... another 20 minute wait.
Food was excellent the wait for our table was only a few minutes. Our waiter wasn’t all that good he really didn’t seem like he really wanted to serve us but other than that everything else was amazing....
Both entrees were over salted. The Appetizer with small. Not that impressed. Not sure I would go back.
Couldn’t have been a better experience from the moment we walked in the service was top notch and the food was outstanding and well worth the value.
Dinner with my wife. Had a great meal no complaints whatsoever
Have dined here several times. Service was great, especially considering I joined my party late, and then saw a friend dining a few tables down so I stepped away for a few minutes to say hello. Food is quite good but not everything is a homerun. Lobster cobb salad was excellent. Mussles and ceviche a little uninspired.
I was very disappointed in the lobster rolls. The calamari was ok. Salad was good.
The booths are are in need of an update and the seafood is little spicy.
Great place. Food, service and environment all first rate.
I had friends visiting from out of town for a professional meeting. So I picked Devon as the place for dinner. They were very appreciative. The service was great. The food was wonderful, except that one person at too much. It is once of the gems in the city.
My husband and I have been eating at the XIX Cafe once or twice a year for at least seven years or more. One thing we always loved were their rolls. They were crusty on the outside, soft on the inside, and served warm. We were told they came from Tom Cat Bakery in NYC. We were very disappointed that they have changed their rolls to a soft roll. I guess the good thing is that now I won't be asking for seconds on rolls. The prixe fixed lunch is a great deal. We love the salads, soup, and charcuterie buffet; the entrees; and the dessert buffet. I was given a special complimentary dessert as it was my birthday. The food was very good, but we really miss those rolls..............
Celebrating my sons 25th birthday, everything was amazing from the service to the food.
There are so many great restaurants in Philly and with our experience this would not be on out list. Appetizer showed up after our main course (they removed the charge) and it was clam chowder - rather bland and not great. The had Happy Hour going on and weren’t great about just charging an up on a brand upcharge but rather doubled the drink price. Main courses good but not great. Service rather slow and just okay.
Caesar was amazing! Very accommodating! Food was great!
Not as good as it use to be. The biscuits use to be my favorite, now they put pepper in the mix. Know one wants to taste pepper in biscuits. The mash potatoes are different.
Waiter and staff were great food was good nice portions.
Everything was amazing
