We loved every morsel
This is our go to spot when in Seattle. It never disappoints.
I had not been to the Dahlia Lounge in years, and frankly chose it because they had a reservation available at a time that worked with our showtime at The 5th Avenue. What a happy surprise it was!
The meal was a grand success for all 5 of us!! We all had a first course of either a salad or appetizer. The portions were generous , the greens fresh and perfect, dressings delicious, burrata creamy and perfect, berries and beets at their ideal ripeness. The French fries were awesome!
We each had a different dish and everything was perfect. From the skirt steak, to falafel, the duck to the Copper River and crab cakes, we were all delighted and satisfied by our choices. The quality of the food itself and the “simple complexities” of preparations were all ideal. All of the sides were splendid as well. My asparagus was crisply flavorful and the broccoli served with the duck was delicious.
Our server was fantastic, entirely attentive but not overwhelming. He gave perfect recommendations, was warm, friendly and charming. He got us out of there with plenty of time to walk to the theater. It was a perfect restaurant experience. It will not be years before we return. This local treasure is worth a visit, and it is a perfect place to bring friends from out of town for a true Seattle/Tom Douglas experience!
Great locale and ambience. Will go back every time we visit Seattle! Cheryl, our waitress, was outstanding from beginning to end! The starters, entrees, wine and desserts were top notch. The triple coconut cream pie from the bakery next door was perfectly sized to share on date night!
What attentive service! These servers know what they are doing. They go the extra mile to be sure you get the right food and beverages. We were very impressed and it made our evening special. The food is amazing although I thought the falafel was kind of dry. Their crab cakes are fabulous, just bring lots of money since they are 2 for $40. Dahlia is a romantic kind of place....
Sorry to say it, but Dahlia has lost their edge. It used to be amazing, but the food is now so-so and VERY overpriced. The interior is dated. There are much better restaurants in the area, that are more creative and more reasonably priced.
Delicious food and great service. Also, one of the few places.in Seattle where one could converse comfortably.
Great food & experience once again. Only critique was that we all were pretty cold because of the air conditioning.
We had a lovely dinner in a cozy setting at this higher end Tom Douglas restaurant, known for great food and local and seasonal ingredients. Started with an excellent red wine from WA State, and lavender goat cheese which was deeply flavorful (paid extra for more bread), and green salad which was lacking moisture (asked for added olive oil, but it never came). Pasta appetizer tortellini was tasty, and a large portion for a stater. Two of the entrees were the in-season halibut which basically failed, surrounded by sour cream which promised enhanced herb flavor, but was just dry fish on sour cream, not seasonal, nor flavorful, especially with the root veggies. Copper river salmon earned his tab, and was well prepared and delicious.
Dessert was the signature, and heavenly coconut cream pie which was fun to share!
We'll be back but not a lot of options for gluten free eaters.
Wonderful all around -- even on a very busy Father's Day.
Loved the brunch, went for Father's Day. Delicious food, great staff, and we got some free Salmon Rub!
Server completely ignored or forgot simple substitution request. I was disappointed in the slow service and food this time, we typically enjoy eating here,I would normally rate our dining experience here as excellent. Hoping this is a one time fluke. Also not a fan of the mandatory tips. Tips should be earned not demanded. I typically tip 20-25%, for good service and today’s experience did not deserve the 20% tip that was automatically charged on our bill.
The waitress was sub standard. Very disappointing for a special event. She was not interested, didn't seem to care, asked a question acted like it a bother to answer.
Excellent service and ambiance!
From the waitstaff to the food selection it was an overall exceptional experience.
This was my first time returning to Dahlia Lounge after 15 or 20 years. I was visiting Seattle with a good friend from Texas and we were looking for somewhere unique. We were not disappointed. Every bite of food was fabulous, our wait staff attentive but not overly so, our reservation was honored right on time. I need to return here more often!
Great food, waitstaff did a great job. Coconut pie is fantastic.
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Dahlia. Excellent food, attentive but not intrusive service. Couldn't ask for more. Thank you!
Great breakfast but pretty expensive. $32 for one person and no alcohol. Automatic 20% added for gratuity, etc. I appreciated waiter telling me so ahead of time.
We had an overnight stay in Seattle that coincided with our wedding anniversary . Chose Dahlias based on reviews and were not disappointed. Every course was amazing! Especially liked the bread salad, crab cakes, and Scotch Whiskey creme brule. Not being familiar with Washington wines, we took the sommeliers advice and we're excited very pleased with the selection
The food was good, the service excellent, and the noise level delightfully low. Our only caveat, really, was the 20% added to the bill. According to the menu, the 20% wasn't for the workers but, effectively, just added to the cost of the meal. It all felt annoyingly odd. If the food and beverages actually cost 20% more than the posted price then just change the posted price.
As printed on all of our menus and checks: A 20 % service charge is included on each check. The entirety of this service charge is retained by the company. Our valued service team receives competitive industry compensation including commission on sales, access to health insurance, 401K, and continuing education for career development. We are required by law to collect tax on the service charge. Thank you for dining with us, we appreciate it.
Lola was booked and they referred us to sister restaurant Dahlia. Both of us enjoyed each dish we had for last minute meal.
Great food, ambiance and our waiter was excellent!
This is one of my all-time favorite Seattle restaurants but it's definitely a splurge. Salads, drinks, and desserts were all wonderful this time around. Salmon was not up to the usual high standards, which was surprising.
Food was good, the waitress was rude and short to us. Since the 20% tip is already included, it seemed they don't take service seriously
We always like going to the Dahlia Lounge. We have not been in in a while and enjoyed the new menu items we were not familiar with. To me the restaurant itself needs a little uplift as far as the ambiance goes. Also I prefer to decide how much I am willing to tip.
An excellent experience start to finish. To begin, my seating request (table, not booth) was honored. The waiter recommendations were well presented. The Copper River salmon could not be prepared any better. And I went for the doughnut (beignets) desert, which were a fun and delicious treat. All in the party raved uncharacteristically about the meal. We were on the early side, which always gives a few peaceful minutes before the rush.
Excellent food with complex flavors in every dish...The venue is beautiful, and the service is friendly and excellent as well
Perfect for lunch that you want to savor with a friend. Don't rush.
The food and service were both amazing! I highly recommend them!!
I made a last minute reservation for a group of four, which quickly grew to 10, and could not be more pleased by the flexibility of the staff. We enjoyed a semi-private setting and a very attentive server. Would highly recommend.
Excellent, warm service
So great! The bartender and server were so good! Recommended
As always, wonderful food and exemplary service. Tom Douglas at his best. I have a severe food allergy and they couldn’t have been more accommodating. Our waitress (Brianna) was very helpful with a wine choice and thoroughly delightful. Ambiance is lovely and very welcoming.
Dahlia's is a pleasant place for a meal with friends and family, you can enjoy the conversation and the excellent service and ambiance. I now prefer brunch because the dinner menu is too strange, limited and pricey. It has changed over the years. While the food is still good, finding something you want to eat in your price range is a challenge.
Always a great dining experience. We will keep coming back. Thanks
A favorite Seattle restaurant for many years. It continues to be fresh and intriguing but so glad they still have the donuts!
Still keeping the high standards that rank it among Seattle’s best year after year.
