Great food. Good atmosphere for business discussions.
it was too expensive in that their food quality was really not special at all.
Dahlia is our go to restaurant for special occasions. It was our daughters 12th birthday and we made a reservation in advance on Open Table and requested a booth and mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday. When we arrived at our reservation time, we were told by the hostess that they did not save a booth for us because they had so many walk-in customers and they didn't want to say no to their requests. We were in shock that they would prioritize customers that walked in over those that made reservations! There was one booth left but we were told that it was reserved for Tom Douglas' friends. Funny, that they didn't give that booth to another customer.
Anyway, we decided to wait for a booth and were seated after 15 mins. We had a fantastic waiter and the service was perfect which almost made up for the horrible hostess. The food was very good and the donuts with the spreads were a hit as always, especially with a candle in them for my daughters birthday.
Overall, despite the booth situation, it was wonderful meal and evening.
Very nice ambience, service and food. The service was great, should probably order more appetizers than normal if you are sharing (small), entrees were good but maybe not their best night, the Tom Douglas standby desserts were great (made to order donuts and triple coconut cream pie)......overall a good experience.
Great food! Watch out for the 20% gratuity automatically included in your bill, especially if you like expensive bottles of wine. Never understood why high-end restaurants don't just charge a flat fee for opening up a bottle of wine, regardless of price of the wine. Seems crazy to pay $20 trip to open up a $100 bottle of wine, let alone $40 for a $200 bottle of wine.
The cod was amazing!
Food was okay. Pork chop over done. Service was excellent. Ambiance was very nice.
Great food, service, ambiance. As usual.
I’ve been here before on a business trip. I returned for dinner (but really dessert). The coconut cream pie is amazing. The grapefruit pavlova was brilliant.
Dennis and I had a most memorable evening. Our server was Maureen. Not only friendly, professional bot great suggestions for dishes. At her suggestion we share the winter green salad with persimmons, main course crab cakes and then the pear tart with baileys ice cream. What a fabulous meal. This was after our evening with the Hot Stoves Society New Year’s Eve extravaganza.
What a treat. Two nights in a row.
Had a chayotes quickly speak with the kitchen. Can’t say enough about the talented staff.
Eggs Benedict was cold, breakfast potatoes were hard, scramble with goat cheese was flavorless. Even some salt and pepper would have helped. All of it was unloved and not what I would expect from a Tom Douglas restaurant.
I’ve eaten at this restaurant several times for dinner and the food has been great.
Excellent food, great service. We always enjoy our dining experience at Dahlia Lounge.
Best meal I've had all year—great way to spend New Year's Eve!!!
Fantastic holiday menu!!!! Great service. Thank you for helping us ring in 2019 the right way!
Super great New Year's dinner such a great time. We look forward to going back!
Food was incredible, service exceptional. Will definitely be back.
Great food, great service...what else can you say. Highly recommend.
Incredible cuisine, wonderful service, exquisite ambiance.
The food was amazing, and the staff was very friendly. We would definitely return.
Amazing meal to end the year with. Service and food were exceptional.
It was a quiet afternoon on new year's eve but food and service were good. I would go back.
Great food, interesting menu. Staff was very accommodating when we showed up with an extra person.
Dahlia Lounge has been a steady favorite of mine for more than 15 years. However, my most recent visits have been sub-par of my expectations from historical levels. The level of service is declining, as too is the food innovation/quality. I feel as though the name-brand value of the restaurant is allowing them to just provide only adequate service/quality.
Specific to my most recent visit (which was a celebration), the host staff friendliness was meagerly welcoming. The server was good, but felt like they devoted only the minimal amount of time to us (i.e. too busy). Maybe it's the 'mandatory' 20% service charge they collect which has made the staff 'lazy.'
Too many other Seattle restaurants which provide better service levels and quality food, for lower prices. I'm not giving up on you Dahlia Lounge, but I wish you would win me back.
I have lived in Seattle for 30+ years that Friday was my first time at the Dahlia Lounge. My mistake is waiting so long. Loved the décor, and the style inside throughout. The food was great, the wine suggestion from Alexander our waiter was perfect.
I will be back.
There is a reason why this restaurant has been around and has the reputation it does. An amazing find on our part, one that begged the question "why did we not find this place in previous visits." Heck, I lived in and worked in the area, years previous, and never paid attention.
Anyhow, an excellent choice and an excellent meal. Service was tight and friendly. The decor kept our attention, with interesting features throughout. The menu was current, well described and would meet most 'choice differences.' We opted for a tasty short rib dish and black cod, with a shared browned butter cauliflower side. We skipped dessert, but the server gave my wife a cookie for her birthday, from their bakery next door. Portions were spot-on. Price, within the ballpark of restaurants of this caliber. All in all, a great birthday dinner.
Service quality is still very high. Short rib and crab cakes both excellent. Its pricey but very good.
Always return to Dahlia Lounge...the service and quality of food never disappoint.
We needed a special pre-holiday meal, so Sunday brunch here was perfect. Traffic and parking were easy, we got to see the decorated downtown outdoor trees, and you cannot beat crab cakes, mimosas and beignets at the Dahlia for getting in the Christmas spirit. We topped it off with a stop at the Dahlia bakery, next door, for a pie and some dog treats for friends.
I have been dining at the Dahlia Lounge since the days of the old location near 4th and Stewart. While that venue was a little more intimate, the quality in the newer location is consistent and the food just as stellar. I'm a big fan of Tom Douglas restaurants and always have great service and excellent food. This latest visit was for Sunday brunch to celebrate Christmas with my daughter. We had a wonderful time and the staff always makes it feel like a very special experience. I recommend the Benedict and my daughter's french toast was also to her satisfaction.
Crab cakes and salmon worth multiple visits.
Food was fantastic! Service warm & friendly. We will go back.
Prompt service, imaginative cocktails and very delicious dinner. I eat here every time I visit Seattle and it’s consistently excellent.
We have been to Dahlia for Saturday Brunch a half dozen times and this time everything just seemed blah.
The food was not as special, it wasn't bad but not as delish as usual and the service was mediocre compared to the high touch friendly service we normally get. I get it, it was the weekend before Christmas, but it was kind of a disappointment after months of being able to rely on a good Saturday Brunch spot.
We always enjoy the Dahlia Lounge and realized we are usually at a weekday lunch or a dinner. We had not known there is a brunch menu on Saturdays. Maybe next time but we were set on having seafood in Seattle. Our main dishes were crabcakes (a specialty of the restaurant) and salmon and they were as wonderful as ever. Then we left room to share a slice of the coconut cream pie with white chocolate shavings. A bonus was being able to purchase a loaf of bread from the Dahlia Bakery next door.
The 7 spice rotisserie duck and the short ribs were delicious. Housemade donuts really are a great finish. All the servers were friendly and we had an 8pm reservation, on a Friday, and even though the restaurant was packed by the time we were eating our entrees, we did not get the feeling that they were concerned about turning the table over. Overall great dining experience, would definitely come back next time in Seattle.
My wife and I had another fantastic evening.
Everything was wonderful! Service was outstanding. Always love all the staff at Dahlia Lounge!
Yummy as usual! I had the crab cake, a glass of syrah, and a chocolate truffle cookie for my lunch with office mates. Can't beat that except to have two crab cakes instead of only one!
I went to lunch at this restaurant. Service was so slow. It’s definitely not a place to have lunch during work week. I had crab cake for $24 but the crab cake is very small for the price. Taste wise was good. My friend had grill cheese which comes with tomato soup and that was delicious.
It has to be said yet again that I loved my meal. This time I had the grilled chicken salad, with kale, brussel sprouts, wheat berry, and a yummy vinaigrette dressing. The salad was delish and filling.
The service was outstanding. Our server Alexander was attentive, friendly and professional. Yet another great experience at a Tom Douglas restaurant.
