I recently visited Chop Grill & Bar using a Wowcher dining deal and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I was dining alone while waiting to meet my wife before we attended Miss Saigon at the King's Theatre, and the restaurant proved to be the perfect venue for a relaxed pre-theatre meal and a few drinks. Its location, atmosphere and service make it an excellent choice for anyone attending a show in Glasgow city centre. The standout aspect of my visit was the service. Zoe, my waitress, was absolutely first class from start to finish. She was friendly, welcoming, attentive and genuinely interested in ensuring I had an enjoyable experience. Nothing was too much trouble and she struck exactly the right balance between being attentive and allowing guests to relax. Zoe is a real credit to both Chop Grill & Bar and the Sandman Signature Hotel. For my main course I chose the fish and chips. The fish was beautifully cooked, fresh and full of flavour, with a light, crisp batter. The only slight disappointment was that there wasn't a great deal of chips on the plate, and I would have welcomed a slightly larger portion. However, the quality of the food more than made up for this. I finished with the Cranachan Cheesecake, which was absolutely delicious. The combination of whisky-infused flavours, creamy cheesecake, brandy snap and rich chocolate ganache created a fantastic dessert and was the perfect end to the meal. The Wowcher deal offered excellent value for money, the food quality was very good, the atmosphere was welcoming and the service was exceptional. I enjoyed my visit so much that my wife and I are returning again on Saturday to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We are both looking forward to another excellent meal and another opportunity to experience the fantastic hospitality that Chop Grill & Bar has to offer. Lovely brunch at Birchwood . Good selection of options, prices from about £7.95 up to over £15 for full breakfast. We had croissant with bacon and an egg added, and eggs benedict. Filled us up nicely. Lovely staff and excellent service as always.
