Best Seafood Restaurants in Washington Park

We moved from coastal Northern California to Colorado a couple of years ago, and really miss buying our own oysters at the docks, as well as the plethora of fantastic seafood restaurants. We were skeptical about any restaurant here claiming to serve fresh seafood, but finally decided to try Blue Island Oyster Bar - and, to our delight, it was amazing. The clam chowder was great, as was my prosciutto-wrapped scallop entree. We’ll definitely return, and soon!

We visited Jax last night. As usual, we were greeted warmly, and seated in a comfortable nook. Our trusted-guide/bartender, Ryan, nodded to us and began to mix his incomparable Old Fashioned cocktail that we love so much. Tyler, the Manager, stopped by to catch up with us. It is great to feel so welcomed; like coming home! All of our friends stopped by, one by one, to say 'Hi!', as they passed to take care of their diners. Again, we felt welcomed home. Chef Jenn makes a wonderful Norwegian Salmon dish that, I confessed, I wolf down much too fast. She graciously fulfilled my request for a bit more salmon, for a bit more money; and I was happily filled with the excellent taste. We are able to explore different dishes, because we trust Chef Jenn's palate; she has a knack for blending diverse flavors into a meal that compliments each other. We can taste the care, and purpose of her presentations. Her flavors 'play nice' with each other. We were served by Cody last night. He was new to us, and we felt very comfortable with him immediately. He was attentive, without being pushy. He gave us good advice. He is the kind of person we expect at Jax! The communication between the Manager Tyler, Chef Jenn and Server Cody was seamless; they all handled my portion request as one; no need for me to explain, they were all on the same page with me. It is exceedingly rare to find any place that welcomes, serves, and satisfies their clients so effortlessly. Our visits to Jax in Glendale always leave us warmly satisfied. It is an 'occasion' for us, not just a food stop. Thanks to Tyler, Jenn, and Kemosabe Ryan, as well as our other friends at Jax in Glendale!

Excellent experience! The service was amazing. The server even had a business card. The food was excellent. They even had a kids menu which was very accommodating. Expensive meal, but worth every cent with the Sea Bass, Wine, and Desserts!

Booked for Thanksgiving due to the fact that we could order something other than turkey from their menu. Many restaurants only offer a buffet or prix fixe turkey. We were seated right on time. Our server, Ashley, handled our orders quickly, accurately and efficiently. Food was delicious - you HAVE to get the Thai meatballs! Thanks, Del Frisco's for giving us a beautiful setting with great staff for our Thanksgiving. We'll be back.
