- CCindyGoldSan Diego •11 reviews5.0Dined todayThe Sun Dial is absolutely beautiful! I manage a rooftop event venue in San Diego, so I have high standards for views, sunset ambiance, and the overall experience. I traveled in from San Diego and my boyfriend from Las Vegas, so we’re both accustomed to spectacular settings and aren’t easily wowed. We were here! But the service is what truly made our evening exceptional. Kajuana at the front desk was PHENOMENAL. My boyfriend was breaking down the huge IBM conference, and his finish time kept getting pushed back. She graciously adjusted our reservation several times and made us feel welcome throughout. Our server was next level, too. I wish I had his name, but he was an older African American gentleman who mentioned he had worked there for many years. He was incredibly patient, kind, and knowledgeable. I hope management can identify him because he deserves recognition! My boyfriend arrived exhausted and feeling depleted after a demanding workday. Through their warmth and genuine hospitality, our server, Kajuana, and the entire staff truly turned our night around. We left feeling so much better than when we arrived. Beautiful views are memorable, but people who make you feel this cared for are unforgettable. THANK YOU!More infoThe Sun Dial Restaurant$$$$• Contemporary American• Downtown•4.4
- SSusanAtlanta •4 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoMy favorite restaurant in Atlanta! Over many years it has remained consistent. The seafood is fresh and delicious. Every bakery item from the buttery rolls with just a little sprinkle of finishing salt on top…. to the shrimp toast that comes with the she crab soup ( which is soooo flavorful) to the hush puppies ( they’re topped with powdered sugar which is unusual but divine) is melt in your mouth yummy. We had raw oysters, broiled oysters and fried oysters…all perfect. And I don’t have enough characters to talk about the entrees or service but If I could give The Optimist 10 stars I would!More infoThe Optimist$$$$• Seafood• West Midtown•4.7

- JjanAtlanta •2 reviews5.0Dined on Oct 21, 2026Started off with the Purple Rain Spirit Free drink and it was so refreshing. The fry bread is so good! Right balance of sweet and savory, crispy and light. A delight to the taste buds. The Ceviche is so good on the crispy rice cracker--I wish the serving was a bit bigger--though it's lovely with the red fish over the shrimp most restaurants serve. The angry muscles are fun to eat, they are a good portion and come with lots of yummy bacon, thick pieces of bread to soak in the broth -- a very nice starter to share. Lobster roll is decadent, the roll is nicely toasted and doesn't get soggy, a nice crunch with the soft lobster. I recommend getting the Proper Chips along side, the vinegar and malt aioli is a good balance with the lobster. My companions Can't stop talking about the Redfish, hen of the woods dish--they have had it 2x this month already. We had the Coconut Pie and Sticky Toffee Cake to top off the dinner and neither of us wanted to share. The crust of the Coconut pie is like a chewy cookie in the best way. The atmosphere is amazing. There isn't a bad seat in the house and there are many settings to choose from. The interior design is impeccable. I love the plantings on the upstairs outdoor deck. The seats are comfortable as well. Upstairs inside is a modern feel with big windows and cozy. The downstairs is a cozy, fun vibe and there is an outdoor patio there too.More infoBeetlecat$$$$• Seafood• Inman Park•4.7
