Best Italian Restaurants in Sunnyvale

The service was exceptional! My server was helpful and very knowledgeable about the menu and what items made good parings. The manager was aware of ny travel gear and seated me where it was out of the way but I was comfortable.

We dined at La Fontaine on Saturday night. I had the duck, and my wife had a pasta dish with seafood (pappardelle?). It was easily the best duck I've ever had, and my wife was very happy with her seafood. The restaurant is classy, clean, and quiet enough for a lovely conversation, and the service is excellent.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving meal at Il Fornaio. We appreciated that they had both Thanksgiving and regular options, and that the Thanksgiving feast could be prix fixe or a la carte. The food was great, but wasn't hot as we would have liked. Everything else was delicious. My friend said the ham was a little dry. Great cocktails and wine list. Our server Candy was outstanding. Very friendly and responsive. She was delightful. Nice interior, and the noise level was comfortable and had a very convivial buzz. We were really glad we chose Il Fornaio for Thanksgiving.

Had their Thanksgiving fixed price 4 course meal and it was outstanding. They were flexible and did a substitution for the pumpkin pie last course since I am not a lover of pumpkin pie. The soup course was very good, the salad a very good combination of greens with generous gorgonzola crumbles. Main turkey course was generous and very well prepared. The ability to get 9oz wine was perfect, more than one glass, less than two. Very attentive service even though the restaurant was continually full.

Great Italian food. Old school atmosphere. Great service. Lively location on Sunnyvale's historic Murphy St.
