Mainz isn’t exactly known as a culinary destination, which is why Wilma Wunder stands out so much. Every time I’m in Mainz, I make it a point to stop by, and it has been consistently excellent. The food was outstanding from start to finish. Every dish was beautifully presented, but more importantly, it delivered on taste. Everything was cooked perfectly, and every ingredient tasted fresh. The setting makes the experience even better. Wilma Wunder has a large outdoor seating area with direct views of both the Mainz Cathedral (Dom). Combined with the tasteful, thoughtfully designed décor inside, it’s clear that real effort went into creating an atmosphere that’s both relaxing and memorable. Wilma Wunder is the kind of restaurant that would have no problem holding its own in one of the world’s most competitive dining scenes, such as my home, Manhattan. Great food, excellent execution, a beautiful location, and an inviting atmosphere make it a place I look forward to visiting every time I’m in Mainz.

We went for a couples date evening. For a Saturday it felt very quiet which was slightly off putting at first, but everything was amazing. We had a really nice evening and service was great. We will definitely go back

This is THE place in Frankfurt to enjoy authentic schnitzel since the chef is from Vienna! Also, their seasonal White Truffle Pasta is in season (as of late October) and is nothing short of astounding! The staff here is magnificent in every way, and ensured that I had a superb experience. I can’t wait to get back here again and try more of their amazing food!
