Best Creative Japanese Restaurants in Nordost

An absolute gem in Frankfurt. It’s hard to believe Yūgen has only been open for two months. In my opinion, this is the best omakase experience in Germany. Every piece was prepared with incredible precision, and you can immediately tell how much thought and craftsmanship goes into every detail. The rice deserves special mention. It was perfectly seasoned, served at the ideal temperature, and formed the foundation of every outstanding nigiri. The highlights for me were the freshwater eel (unagi), which was unbelievably tender and full of flavor, and the different cuts of tuna, from akami to chutoro and otoro. Each one showcased its own unique texture and richness. Every bite was memorable. A special thank you to Jesús, whose craftsmanship and attention to detail made the entire omakase experience unforgettable. Equally, Lukas provided outstanding service throughout the evening. He was warm, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about making every guest feel welcome. I can’t wait to come back. Highly recommended!

Enjoyed the beautifully prepared food with flavors that were different from a typcial high-end restaurant experience. Also liked the ability to have a „lunch“ menu and experience the restaurant during the day.
