After being in Germany and Austria for 10 days, we wanted a change of pace from traditional food of the region. - HBHowardBBavaria •1 review5.0Dined on Nov 5, 2022Mike’s urban pub, in the Ibis Styles Hotel, at Ludwig Strasse 35, in Bad Reichenhall, served one of the best steaks I have enjoyed anywhere on Saturday, November 5, 2022. It was boneless, dry-aged, cooked to perfection – pink not red inside, and tender as any New York steak I have had in a steakhouse in recent memory. Their grilled vegetables were fresh and delicious too. Steak cuts available differ in size and type on different days, but generally include rump steaks and dry – aged bone – in and boneless options in several sizes. The lounge ambience was modern and comfortable. Several flatscreen TVs were showing a European football game, but the place was not crowded when I arrived at 7:30 PM, and the restaurant never did get noisy in the hour and a half I was there. At €33 plus tip for dinner and an alcohol free local beer, the price was not expensive for food of that quality. Lesser priced menu options are available too, although I haven’t tried them yet. Mike’s Urban Pub is a German chain, but the Bad Reichenhall location must be new, as it is not yet listed in TripAdvisor. Do yourself a favor and have dinner there before the word gets out! The weight staff were friendly and attentive. The only minor nuisance was the height at which the lamps hung over tables near the bar. Perhaps it was a compromise between maintaining low lighting for the sake of atmosphere well placing lamps high enough to enable people to look up under them at the flat screens above the bar, but the light bulb showed directly in my eyes when I looked up toward the screen. Tip: Because the center of Bad Reichenhall is a pedestrian zone, the nearest parking I found to Mike’s was on Heilingbrunnerstrasse.More infoThe Public pub & bar Bad Reichenhall€€€€• Burgers• Bad Reichenhall•4.6
