Cucina Alessa Huntington Beach
Grilled salmon filet on a bed of organic baby mixed greens tossed in a citrus vinaigrette and topped with asparagus and roma tomatoes.
Tender crispy fried calamari served with a side of arrabbiata sauce.
We always make sure to stop here whenever we are in the HB area. Their food is amazing, authentic and full of flavor. There service is wonderful. You feel like family. I recommend the butternut squash ravioli bit there is nothing on their menu that disappoints!
The spinach ravioli and pear & Gorgonzola salad were outstanding! Attentive service, great experience.
Every item on the menu is amazing. My fave is anything with shrimp! The size of their shrimp are huge! Yummy pesto olive oil dip for the bread and an awesome meat and cheese platter too. Highly recommend :)
Great service and fantastic food. Good prices too!!! It was our first time but we will definitely be back.
Exceptional food, service and atmosphere as always, thank you!
Food and service are outstanding. Victor and all of the wait staff makes you feel like you have private Chef serving you at home.
The absolute best place to eat in Huntington Beach!!
Seating upstairs is the way to go. Much darker (not too dark) and a little quieter. Service was top notch by Josh. He's the man. Food was excellent.
Food was amazing but I feel like they were understaffed.
the food was good but the wait staff was somewhat inattentive. We asked the staff person for parm cheese and he did nothing. We then tried to get our waiter several times and she to busy with a wine tasting group. We also had to ask several times for drink refills. Not the best of service
Great experience, great service, meets our NY Italian standards!
We had a great dinner celebrating a retirement. Everyone loved their meals and the service was phenomenal.
pleasantly surprised stopped by for lunch and will for sure head hear again. we had 3 different pastas and a pizza to share and even they bread was good.
Dined in the upstairs dining room with a nice view. Always a delicious meal. The place was busy so the noise level was higher than usual. Learned they have Riedel wine glasses when you buy their high end wines. Will go again. Delicious Tiramisu!
This was my first time at Cucina Alessa and I had a hard time liking this restaurant (and it's not because of the food). The entire atmosphere is super loud, especially when there are extremely boisterous patrons who are drinking. Voices, clamoring of dishes and the sheer small size of the room echo to the point you have to practically shout at your dining guests to be heard.
The service was disappointing. Our glasses had lipstick stains and debris in the water. Once we ordered our entrees it took an extraordinarily long time before they came, and although they arrived hot, I would have appreciated more communication. The server was nice but seemingly stretched to the limits with orders. I would not consider this establishment to be fine dining and yet the wait for food is comparable. I don't see us returning.
On a positive note, the food was tasty. Presentation leaves a lot to be desired, but the dishes themselves were quite good. They have a fantastic dipping sauce for bread and the Bella Mia meatballs were terrific. We tried the Fusilli Napoli, Ravioli D'aragosta and the Pappardelle Al Sugo D'agnello. We also had some burrata that was served with a few olives (one fell onto the table when placed by a server who clearly didn't care) and a half of an artichoke served over a bed of old arugula. It was strange and we weren't sure if it was supposed to be served with bread or as is. At any rate, the burrata was decent. But, I'd say go ahead and skip it.
We started with martini's, meatballs, and calamari.....all were outstanding. Then we had a light dinner....Caesar salad with shrimp....also very good and flavorful.
Impeccable service from Josh! so good!!
Our party of four arrived 30 minutes early for our 8:15 PM reservation; the restaurant readily accommodated us. Food was outstanding, service by Michelle was superb--we will be back.
Restaurant is good. 1st floor good for group dinner and 2nd floor good for couple. Food a bit salty but still taste good. Overall the restaurant employees are friendly except the two who served us were kind of mean. We requested window table and their respond was “no, we can’t sit there.”
It was our anniversary so we wanted to eat at our favorite restaurant in Huntington Beach. It did not disappoint!! Best food, excellent food and comfortable ambience! No better place to dine!
Service was great but the food was amazing. From the appetizers to dessert, everything was delicious. Will definitely come back in the near future!!
Excellent meal. Went on a Sunday afternoon, so not busy. Service was great. Parking can be an issue, so allow time to find street parking. Definitely recommend and will go again in the future.
V tasty. Lots of options to eat and drink. The service was genuine.
Josh is an amazing server! Always the best service!
We had dinner on the last night on our vacation. We took out two kids that are 17 and 12 and we all enjoyed our dinner. There was a large selection and they accommodated my sons allergies. It’s a smaller restaurant near downtown HB. We will go back there next time we are in town.
We sat outside which was perfect, however, those dining inside were excessively loud. The staff was welcoming and polite. Multiple staff members checked on us throughout our dining experience.
Nice neighborhood location and very friendly staff. They were kind enough to hold our reservation when we showed up at the wrong location and the hostess called to confirm we were on our way. Food was good, wine was an excellent recommendation by our server and it is clearly a popular place. Parking was very difficult on a Friday evening. Recommend ride-sharing to restaurant if an option.
Great service and food service for lunch for 4 of us. First time at this location and as enjoyable as the Newport site.
Food is always amazing, however the rather brusque male host did not make a good first impression. His comment 'wait here until I find one of my runners to take you to the table' was condescending and implied he was above seating diners.
We were there for dinner yesterday for my birthday. My sea bass was delicious.
On the other hand my husband ordered fettuccini Alfredo with chicken. He was very dissatisfied with the under cooked noodles and the chicken was overdone. We have always had great food at Alessa not sure what happened yesterday.
We’ll come back and give them another try.
My husband did not let the server know because he is against sending food back to the kitchen. He expects it right the first time.
Our server Alfonso was fantastic.
Our favorite Italian restaurant while visiting California. The food, service and experience is the best!
Food was great! And service loves it!
Danielle was amazing as was all the staff. Fantastic experience. Totally enjoyed the entire experience. Absolutely flawless!
Great food! Noise level a
Little high. Loved the butternut squash ravioli!
We had a great time. Had a nice table by a window. The bread and pesto dipping oil was really good. My wife and I split a Caesar Salad which was a pretty good portion. I had the lobster ravioli which was great. My wife had a grilled seafood trio with salmon, lobster and scallops with a spinach linguini and pesto. Fabulous. Finished off with a ricotta cheesecake with berries. Looked small but very filling. Our server Delia was very nice.
We asked for a different table, a table near the window and was moved immediately with no fuss at all. The waitress was wonderful and very sweet. I had the raviolitte and expected normal sized ravioli but they were mini. Wish I was told cause I would have ordered something else. They were good though.
The inside was very noisy (the place is all tile, so sound really bounces around), so we ate outside. There was a heater but it blew out, and the scene wasn’t very picturesque. The company was good despite the circumstances.
The restaurant was crowded and very noisy. Waiter was uninterested. Food was less Han mediocre. I actually felt ill after eating there. Foccocia was tasteless and poor texture. Saving grass was basil olive oil. Chicken saltimbocca was horrendous. . Rubbery breast with too much thyme and gross gravy.
What an amazing experience here .. Hyatt recommended highly - thank you KEN... Food and wine - yummy.... perfect. Service, outstanding - thank you Jonathan. We'll be back when we are backing Huntington Beach for sure. SO good... Tummy and heart happy!!!
Parking sucks around the restaurant. So make sure you get there early in order to find parking!
Restaurant is cozy and the wait staff is attentive.
Food was good.
