Council Oak Steaks & Seafood at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood Florida
Until the new Hard Rock Hotel Hollywood tower opens up this October, the Council Oak restaurant is temporarily located in a converted ballroom/meeting room in the original hotel's convention center. There are no windows, and the location is no where near the casino. The food is still of a very good quality and is well prepared by expert chefs, but the ambiance is not what you would normally expect from a restaurant with this type of menu and prices. Hopefully they will be moving soon, and the experience will improve for diners who have a desire to combine ambiance with their expertly prepared meal.
We love Council Oak. Our server, Alex, was incredible. He is definitely an asset to your restaurant. We are always in the casino so I am sure we will be back very soon. Thank you for a great job.
It still is in the temporary location but still nice.
Never disappoints and the service forms Pascal was amazing!
This was a meal I will never forget! Everything was amazing! I don’t live in Florida but I will be back! We were celebrating our anniversary and they brought us a special dessert too!!
Have been to this restaurant several times. It never disappoints! Food & service is always outstanding! Highly recommended!
Not until they move to their final location. The current setup feels put together and unrefined
Great steak, Complementary birthday dessert, very happy
The food and service is impeccable. It is a tad expensive, but worth it
Steak Excellent. Onion rings fair to partly cloudy, Too much breading. Oysters fishy and lobster Mac and cheese fishy. Keep to steak avoid seafood.
Dining in a banquet/meeting room is not how I want to spend a very large amount on dinner. I read reviews and was concerned. I called before arriving and was told it was now in its permanent location. That was a downright lie. Set my mood off bad from the beginning. Food was good and service was good but the ambiance was horrible. I don't appreciate being lied to.
Although the location was under construction we had a fantastic time. The service was great and the cocktails, wine, and filet were worth every penny. The oysters were not great, but I guess that’s my fault for ordering out of season. Overall very pleased and I’d definitely come back once the location is set.
The food was very tasty. The dessert was a surprise on the house, a happy Anniversary raspberry chocolate torte. The service was excellent above par. The location was in transit to a better place. Since they are remodeling the Seminole Hard Rock the location is not at the same level of the prices. I will go back next year for my Anniversary.
Construction at the casino is an issue. Didn’t know we were going to be in a make shift ding area,
Wonderful oysters and steaks. the service is outstanding.
The food was delicious and the service impeccable.
Until they move the restaurant to a permanent location, avoid Council Oaks. Right now, it is just a bunch of tables crammed into a horrible ballroom. It is a mess, poor coordination which results in poor service. Food was pretty good.
The restaurant was setup in a temporary space while the new casino building is under construction which is why the ambiance was slightly thrown off. I still anticipated receiving "fine dining" service, which we certainly did not. There was nothing wrong with the service , we had everything we needed, when we needed it but it definitely was not what we have become accustomed to from a fine dining establishment. The guys had the Prime Rib Special and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I had the filet, also cooked perfectly to temperature. The Oysters Rockefeller were delicious, the carpaccio and crabcake left something to be desired so did the lobster mac and cheese which was nearly flavorless (although there were lovely lumps of lobster in the mix).
WE enjoyed all that Council Oaks promised. It is a delightful place to dines. The service was excellent.
We plan to go back.
Relocated restaurant to one of the ballrooms. No ambiance at all. My steak was way over cooked. However that didn’t stop them from charging a ridiculous price for the dinner. Way way over priced for what you get..
They now have an excellent Japanese wagyu ribeye that's out of this world!
Great food with impeccable service.
Our server Stephen was the best and very attentive to our needs and wants.
The food was amazing. But the service was phenomenal
This was our first visit and we will be back. We had never been to the restaurant, but the reviews were good. We got there late as we were going to the show Friday, night at 8PM. The waiter made sure to pick up the pace so that we could have dinner and make the show in time. Our appetizer was the Shrimp Cocktail and it was presented in a very modern way looked and tasted very good. We ordered the bone in Filet Mignon, with creamed spinach & baked potato (everything is a la cart). The cocktails ordered to go with dinner were perfect. All in all, food was delicious and service excellent. The restaurant reservations are recommended.
I took my husband here for his birthday dinner. Neither of us had ever been and do t think we plan on returning. I’ve always heard great things about the restaurant, but I would much rather spend our money somewhere else. Dinner was ok, the lobster tasted terrible. I was never offered something instead just asked if I was finished and I took one spoonful and was turned off. I respond with I didn’t care for the soup. The service wasn’t bad, but the food was nothing to write home about. The ambiance was horrible! I get they are under renovations, but you feel like your sitting in a hotel ballroom. The lighting is a joke. There is none. I would much rather spend our time and money at another steak house.
The atmosphere was superb, the server knew everything about the menu and the restaurant was quiet and calming. Everything was 4-5 stars until we got to the food. We were at the Okeechobee steak house two weeks ago and the steaks did not compare. We ordered the prime rib and the 8 oz fillet. The steaks were just ok compared to mouth watering at Okeechobee. I don't know if it was an off day, but this is how we felt.
Experience was fantastic! Food was GREAT! and, service was second to NONE.
Great variety of appetizers and entrees. I got the charred octopus and it exceeded expectations. Filet mignon was average. I will have it butterflied next time.
I just love the food, the service, the ambient ❤️
Went with friends. Service was top class, the seafood tower and wagyu meat out of this world!
Everything was pretty much perfect. I was initially concerned the atmosphere would not be up to snuff due to ongoing renovations . This was not an issue at all . Food and service was superb . The sirloin and Caesar salad was to die for . The only reason I’m giving 4 stars was that the linguine in clam sauce was weak. I did not follow my intuition to not order this in a fine Italian restaurant and should have . This dish should be taken off the menu if it can’t be done right . Everything on the menu should be perfect or it shouldn’t be there . All in all I’d return especially if I’m seeing a show on the premises . The server did not rush us but got us out on time for the show.
Had the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer and the six ounce filet medium with broccolini and mash potatoes as the sides. Everything was amazing. The streak was “like butter”. Followed up with the key lime, which wasn’t too sweet or too tart. Perfect dinner, perfect evening.
The service staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The steak was one of the best I have ever had. It was cooked to perfection and was seasoned just right!
the service from check in to the table was very very good!
Waiter recommended linguini with clams and shouldn’t have. It was terrible!
We were forced to send two dishes back based on being overcooked. Waitress was fantastic. She was around when needed and did her job perfectly. Based on the food we ate and the issues we had, I wouldn't go back.
We had a fantastic dinner in celebration of my son's birthday. The steak tartare was amazing. My son likes the steaks at Council Oaks better than the other well known steak houses. Plus, the fish is wonderful for non-meat eaters. The service was outstanding and the wine selection is great. I highly recommend.
