Core de Roma - West Chester
The Burata was excellent as was the ricotta cheesecake.
Outstanding food. Luigi made us feel like we were home
Excellent as always
First time there. Valentine's Day. Had not made a reservation in a timely fashion, considering how busy it can be for Valentine's Day. We were able to get a table at 4:15, however. Everything was wonderful ....the atmosphere, staff, and especially the FOOD! Plus, byob! Will definitely be returning.
So glad we stumbled on this BYOB:) Food was amazing and very authentic. All the owners and employees were wonderful. Artichoke appetizer was best I have had. We had to wait a bit for our reserved table but that was part of the fun. They opened our wine as we were waiting and we chatted with others waiting. There are parking lots right before and right after restaurant which is before the heart of downtown West Chester.
Allways a great meal here. Nice atmosphere, excellent food, attentive staff, good prices. What not to like?
Service was good. Restaurant was very warm. Braciola portion was very small. Quality of food was good, but nothing exceptional. Nice ambiance, love byo.
As always we were greeted and treated like returning family.
Server was attentive. Food as always was great.
We keep going back because it is always so reliable.
The food was fantastic. CDR has some of the best Italian food in the area. The service however was a bit slow. Being only one of three tables in the restaurant, it took a while to get our bill and I had to look for the server, who I believe is one of the owners. She was doing everything, and there were no other servers. Regardless, it’s nothing to dissuade me from going back.
This is an amazing restaurant with unbelievable food and people! This is a MUST go to restaurant straight from Italy!! Everyone loved their food!! The crespata soup is the best soup I ever had ANYWHERE!! The eggplant parm is to die for!!! Can not wait to go back!!!
We have t been there for awhile, but we were very glad we went back! The food was excellent and very nice servers and people!
Great meal, fantastic service
Genuine Italian cuisine with great service. Also a BYOB which helps make it a very reasonable night out!
We had a great time but would request a table not in the middle of the restaurant. The perimeter tables would make this 5 stars instead of 4.
This is our go-to restaurant in West Chester. My wife is a vegan and the chef accommodated her diet by making an excellent plate of grilled vegetables. And I had the grilled tuna special, which was a first for me. Both meals were excellent. It was a Saturday night and the restaurant was packed and lively. But we had no issue conversing among ourselves and our guests. This little Roman Tratoria BYOB is a gem and well worth the visit. If it is your first visit, check out the artichoke appetizer which is the closest thing to genuine Roman cuisine that you will find.
This restaurant has changed since it first opened. When I ate there several years ago I would have rated the food as outstanding and truly Italian, but I think that now they cater more to American tastes. However, it is still VERY GOOD food and the prices are great.
The "ambiance" is not good, though, as we were squashed in like sardines and the noise level was VERY loud! Even though the tables are small-ish and we sat close to each other, the 4 of us could barely hear each other without yelling to be heard!
SIGH - I am so tired of trying to go to dinner with friends and actually being able to TALK to each other! We did have reservations, but I should have specified that we wanted to eat in the outer room (where the "bar" is - although they have no liquor license, the bar is still there. It's much quieter there!
Toast to the New Year/ Decade
It was a very busy Saturday night and service was uncharacteristically slow. We had a 6:30 reservation for my husband's birthday and were offered the opportunity to wait for a table or take the only one that was available when we arrived. We opted for the available table which was unfortunately in a high traffic area; not ideal, but we felt it was better to take it vs. wait for the other party to vacate the "good" table. It took 17 minutes for a server to approach our table to open our wine as a large party was seated just after we were. It was nearly 30 minutes before our appetizers arrived. The food was, however, perfectly prepared and delicious.
Love this restaurant but the service was a little off this evening. Maybe it was just they could not handle the crowd.
Always great food. Staff is wonderful. A lovely place for any occasion.
I Was disappointed because the pasta was not homemade.
Waiter said only the gnocchi is.
We are sorry you were disappointed with your visit, but after reading your review, I would like to clarify one misunderstanding. It is not true that the only home made pasta are the gnocchi. The home made pasta in our restaurant are: Gnocchi, lasagna, cavatelli, ravioli etc. Also, The non home made pastas used in our restaurant are spaghetti, penne, linguine and capellini. We use the De Cecco brand that is the best and most expensive pasta in Italy and USA. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
We cannot stop talking about the food...it was beyond fabulous and is probably the best italian restaurant in the Philadelphia area. Truly authentic Roman style italian food that far surpasses your expectations! Be sure to try the artichokes, meatballs, calamari and essentially any dish! UNBELIEVABLE!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great time with my girlfriends...foiod was top notch...love it here..
Excellent and fresh as always
Food just ok, very salty , nothing special
Always a good meal and attentive service. Be sure to check with the server or the owner who is often there about specials. The dinners are classic homemade Italian. Can't get much better value.
We had an excellent dinner with wonderful service. We will return soon
What a fantastic dinner my husband, sons, and I had at Core de Roma on a Saturday evening! From the moment we walked in until we made our exit, we were treated like gold. Everything was delicious, and the service was top notch. All employees seemed happy to be there and worked well together. Great evening for all of us!
Made a last minute decision to dine. We split a great mixed salad with very flavorful dressing. My wife had a fettuccine with sausage and I had a lamb shank with carrots and risotto. Both were just terrifically prepared with great flavors. Shared the tiramisu, which is made with Marsala wine and was great. Enjoyed a great bottle of Italian wine from home. Service was attentive and the owner visited our table several times, a nice touch.
We frequent Core de Roma, and used this latest opportunity to introduce friends to the restaurant. We were not disappointed. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing lunch.
Food is very good and prices are reasonable. Waitstaff aims to please. My wife and I were there with another couple during the week and my wife is going there again with some of her friends.
Excellent authentic Italian food. I highly recommend the Bruschetta and Linguine alla Peacatore!
This place is great. From the salad to the entrees everything was perfect. The owner comes over to check on you throughout the entire meal and everything is made to perfection. Cannot wait to go back
Warm and welcoming staff. A wonderful place to spend an evening with authentic Italian food
Amazing... brought me back to my childhood spending summers in Rome. Bronzino, artichokes, gnocchi... everything was wonderful. Can’t wait to return.
Such quality food! The atmosphere was perfect for a Friday night date. Staff was very tentative and very friendly! The owner was very personable and greeted each table- we can’t wait for our next visit!
Had a delicious Italian meal. Eggplant was perfecto!!!
Owners are very personable
Enjoyed wonderful tiramisu
Outstanding home made pasta and wonderful service.
Great place for an old fashioned Italian meal. Big parties can make the noise level too high for an intimate dinner but don’t let that stop you!
We have come here as a couple, but we have also come here with groups of friends. They are so welcoming to groups and you never feel like you are being hurried. It’s like being in Italy where you practically rent the table for the evening! The food is always delicious and there’s so many choices.
Restaurant was not open when we got there at noon.
