What Insiders Are Saying
One of the few New York City restaurants you can count on for an excellent meal regardless of circumstance. Go for any meal or for a day on the patio.
Inspired food, great service - can't wait to go back!
As someone who eats there often... the check in process was less than acceptable
Google/your website.... showed you were open today at 8 am
It now shows you opened today at 1030.... you actually opened at 10 am?
don’t ridicule your customers for mistakes such as these
Excellent food and server was amazing! Great atmosphere-always busy. Love this place!!
It’s a nice restaurant with good food but the dining room is insanely noisy. It’s so loud you have to scream to be heard.
Loud construction outside at the moment.
Love this place. I have been several times but brought friends that have never been. They declared Cookshop as our permanent meeting place
Great food. Very loud. The waiter offered us "complimentary tap water or sparkling water", which was a bit offputting but otherwise great place!
We were seated almost 30 minutes after our reservation time and once seated service took forever. Our waiter came over when we seated and asked out water type, then we didn't see him again for 15 mins and our drink orders took about 15 mins. Lots of wait time.
We loved our food and the attentive + friendly service. Only drawback is that my ears are still ringing an hour later.
I would recommend Cookshop to all of my friends with the caveat that it's more quiet to eat outside on busy Tenth Avenue than to eat inside. Therefore, I can't go to the restaurant with several 'foodie' friends who have hearing issues. And, even for me, it's not easy to have a conversation. But I love the food and the very friendly service.
Service was on point! We only had small plates and they didn’t disappoint! Drinks a bit pricy, but tasty. Good for any day of the week!!
Cookshop is terrific...fresh, locally sourced ingredients, a constantly changing menu and always delicious. Staff is great, too.
I love the location of this restaurant (W Chelsea) and how light and bright and pretty it is. I love that the food is seasonal and the ingredients are good quality. Many of the things seem overly salted. The hardest thing for me about it is that it is very, very, noisy. Loud music and poured concrete floors. I'll try an outdoor table next time. I prefer breakfast there over other meals.
The menu was different than on line...
I really liked this restaurant. Radishes were a fresh, light starter. Squash was delicious (must like anchovies), and the Tabouleh and Pork Chop we’re both prepared well.
Amazing chicken dish and the seafood salad had tons of fresh fish. Am definitely heading back there next time I am in New York.
The beignets were so yummy we ordered double to go!
Incredibly attentive service. Terrific Squash Blossom Picatta for starters. Scallops for dinner had a wonderful flavor. My wife had the falafel with tabouleh and amazingly the flavors combined in that dish to be wonderful.
Food was fantastic and they made the most perfect off menu Watermelon spritz!!! Love the Bowery group!!!
Great brunch. We had the huevos rancheros (modern interpretation) and a frittata, plus two bloody Mary’s. Would recommend for a get together with friends on a sat/sun
Brunch on a summer Saturday could not have been better. Carefully and deliciously prepared food, attentive service and beautiful space.
Good, nice meal and atmosphere
I arrived early and was immediately offered to be seated at the table, and I had a choice of tables! Service was excellent. Our wait person was attentive, giving us lots of time to order, eat and then hang out over coffee and conversation. A win-win!
The staff is First Class in my book and one of favorite go to restaurants in NYC!
We got there and the waiter immediately took us to our table. For the appetizer we got the deviled eggs and they were amazing! There were four and each one had different garnish’s! My drink was an awesome ginger lemon mock tail. For my main course I had two fish tacos with a spicy sauce and a jalapeño cabbage slaw. Delicious! Overall even though I had been there many times, the experience was still as great as ever.
Food has just been stellar lately. Skillet brownie dessert is insane.
Very fun place and our waiter was superb. Wish I remembered his name so I could put it here.
Always a great place to take friends when they come into town. Great service, excellent food & always buzzing with energy!
Cookshop is in our neighborhood and we go time and again because it's consistently good...food, service and ambience are all rock solid, whether it's brunch, lunch or dinner.
Nice spot for brunch if you can get a reservation, lively (very noisy inside, sit outside if you can), good food, very nice service
Great spot. Not a lot of variety but everything they have is great. Been there twice while in NYC only for brunch.
Make reservations for sure!
Amazing breakfast meal.
Wonderful food and service.
The food was amazing. I had the squash blossoms and the egg plant dish. I’m still dreaming of both. The service was fantastic, and everyone enjoyed their entree.
The food here was AMAZING! I hardly ever eat every bit of food on my plate when I go out to eat, but here, I could have eaten several more plates. The food was fresh and perfect for summer. I would come here again for sure!
We had been there for a light bite previously. We had a full breakfast. Both were delicious. It is right off the Highline. Pet friendly.
We had a wonderful dinner
Cookshop is an attractive, lively, spacious restaurant in a fun location. We enjoyed the food for the most part -- the sea scallops and the desserts were very good. The pork chop was dry, but that was the only downside of the meal. Service was friendly and attentive.
So expensive- they get you in the wine. Excellently cooked meats, sides could be better. Beautiful and energetic vibe. Great outdoor seating!
The food, ambiance, and overall vibe was terrific. However, the noise level inside was LOUD.
