   Easily the best restaurant in the area and perfect for any occasion! This time we were there with my brother/sister in law for my husbands birthday and it did not disappoint. The hostess was very friendly and the service was top notch! We started with a Manhattan, French martini and some wine. For our appetizers we ordered the oysters, crab cakes and sticky ribs. Followed by our entrees of two scallops, one filet and one NY strip. For dessert we shared the brownies and a dutch baby. Everything was delicious from start to finish and seasoned perfectly! I could eat those potatoes everyday also! We really can't say enough about how wonderful everything was! Thank you to the entire staff for another memorable experience!

   We had a wonderful meal and evening. We were promptly seated and attended to in short order. Party of 5, 3 ordered cocktails and said they were very good. Fired shrimp and fried oyster appetizers were also enjoyed. We ordered the Duck, Scallops, Ribeye, Beef Tenderloin and Salmon - all were delicious. Service was very attentive and watchful of the meal timing while balancing a very busy workload . We enjoyed three desserts - chocolate mousse, lemon pound cake and the Apple Dutch baby. Apple Dutch baby was modified and served more as a cobbler but all were very good. We had a wonderful evening and noted that a few folks stopped by the open kitchen area to thank the chef and the team, a very nice gesture and affirmation that others were also enjoying their meal and experience,

   Cochon is an experience. The incredible service begins as you walk in the door of this upscale restaurant and continues throughout the evening. All the menu offerings are incredible with something for everyone and the ability to combine salads and appetizers for lighter fare, or enjoy a multi course feast. The specials truly are special, and the chocolate pate is a must for dessert. All the food is cooked and presented to perfection. Cochon is a Williamsburg gem.

   We drove an hour to sit at the bar. The staff was on point from the time we walked in the door, were seated and received our checks. We started with great cocktails, then dinner. Amazingly perfect. We finished with desert….wow. We are scheduling our next visit in June.

   My husband and I went for dinner to celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary.  The service was wonderful.  Our waiter and the entire staff were so attentive; and made sure everything was to our liking. I had the duck breast which is done perfectly. My husband ordered the ribeye, and it was delicious .  I enjoyed being so close to where the chefs were preparing food over the wood grill; however we went home smelling like a campfire. I wish we had saved room for dessert. All the more reason to dine at Cochon again very soon!

    We couldn’t have asked for a nicer dinner out as a family to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Our hostess and server were so accommodating, especially because we had our toddler son with us. There wasn’t a kid’s menu and they were doing a pre fixe menu for graduation weekend. It all worked out and our server went above and beyond, cutting my son’s shrimp up ahead of time, filling his milk cup and comping my husband’s cocktail. Our hostess was quick with a highchair and noticed our son loved the graduation balloons and brought him one. The food was delicious and we were completely satiated. I would have given a 5-star review for food but my steak was more medium rare than medium. Better than being overdone but more rare than I would have liked. Thank you for everything!     Good food and service but really expensive. We were not told beforehand that a graduation party would be price fixed at $85 a head, even though we spoke directly with them for our reservation. For 10 people + 4 drinks it was over $1000.00. It was a super expensive meal.

    Cochon on 2nd is by far the best eating experience in Williamsburg. It is comparable to any high quality restaurant in Chicago and NYC that we have frequented without the inflated prices. The ambience and service were stellar and the food was excellent. Portions were generous; we tried a variety of dishes, all exceptionally prepared and delicious. We will definitely return.

    The service at Cochon is first-rate, the ambience is very nice as well. Polite and accomodating staff, and bartender makes great martinis. Unfortunately, the main courses were disappointing. For an $85 meal, the steak and pork should, at least, be above average. The pork chop was overcooked and flavorless, and the steak tenderloin wasn't much better. Appetizers and dessert were really good.

    Very nice for a special occasion or other fine dining event. Meal was excellent - only minor issue I had was the duck breast had soggy skin; Pork belly with scallop was perfection, and the rest of the meal was exemplary. Price isn't cheap, but not out of range for the level of service and attention to detail. For instance, hassleback potatoes were all trimmed to perfect squares, each identical. Watched the chef trimming a plethora of fresh scallops to make certain each one was just right. Nice setting with an open cooking area so you can watch the chefs; all in all, I'll return!

    Cochon is a very nice and tucked away French restaurant in Williamsburg with a country cabin feel and a welcoming space that was easy to be in and not too loud. It's an easy place to have a nice meal and you're not strained trying to have a conversation with your party. The food quality was excellent as was the service.

    We celebrated my daughter's birthday, and the service was great, our server Jessica was enthusiastic about the specials, and we loved her recommendations. Soft Shell crab, arugula salad, scallops, duck, creme Brule, chocolate mousse, Martini's, we had it all and it was impeccable.

    Legitimate fine dining with exceptional service and really good food. The restaurant could be viewed as pricey by Williamsburg standards but it really isn’t. There are no more than two other true fine dining spots in the area and the menu at Coshon is priced appropriately.. far less, in fact, than what you’d see at comparable fine dining spots in other towns. It’s well worth the money, from food quality to exceptional service.

    Not so hot... The restaurants is very nice, but the service and food was extremely subpar considering the price. It took 20 min. for us to see a waiter (apparently there was confusion regarding who was assigned our table), once we saw our waiter there were numerous mishaps along the way such as serving me a drink that was supposed to be smoked and it wasn't and taking 10 min. to bring an extra condiment that delayed my mother from eating her entre. Also, the waiter (a nice person) made very odd jokes throughout the night, which left us perplexed? For example, 2 of the 4 people in our party were done with their meal and wanted their plates cleared, but he said his mother would be disappointed for him to clear the table before everyone was finished eating. I got one of the specials for the night, a rib eye, and I could barely cut it with the massive steak knife. I'm not exaggerating that I literally had to tear it between the knife and fork. I told the waiter and he apologized and wrapped it up for me to take it home. Lastly, we dined here to celebrate my son's birthday and I would have thought they'd provide a small dessert to celebrate the occasion (most fine dining restaurants do), but they didn't. All in all, the $500ish meal wasn't worth it. The potential is there it just wasn't our lucky night.

    Celebrating a wedding anniversary at Cochon is a tradition of ours. And again, we weren't disappointed with food or service. Exceptional. We had the table by Neil's preparation area and it was a joy to seeing the energy of him and his crew to make such exceptional tasting food. We were equally impressed with the coordination of the wait staff. Well trained and well respected. Thanks again for a lovely evening!

    My wife and I moved to W'burg 2 yrs. ago. We've managed to go to most top tier restaurants in town. Among what I would consider the "Top 4", the other 3 are for one reason or another I would consider for a special occasion maybe once a year. Cochon's food and service quality matches any of the others, but it has an ambiance that just invites you back as often as you can go. Its High Grade comfort food and ambience. Invite some friends and just go; you won't be disappointed.

    The food was wonderful. A wonderful spot for our anniversary dinner. I would say it was moderately loud in the dining room given the very high ceilings. The open kitchen also seems to make the dining room somewhat smoky. I would definitely recommend this place to friends looking for a celebration, but I would not choose this spot if I was dining with kids.

    This was our first visit and had a great experience with great food and an awesome server. She made (I believe her name was Emily) us feel welcome and was very knowledgeable about the menu… she is definitely an asset to the restaurant.     We live in Williamsburg and have enjoyed eating at Cochon over they years, but something has changed , unfortunately. The last two times we have visited our medium-rare tenderloin has come out of the kitchen just south of shoe leather. My scallops were cold. If these things had just happened once we would’ve been happy to write it off as a bad night. Two times in a row and our thoughts are what a shame, this used to be a good restaurant.
