We ordered from the Dine Out Lauderdale menu. Selections were plentiful and all sounded good. Started with beef carpaccio for myself and shaved octopus for my partner. Both outstanding. Main course was for both Chilean seabass with onion jam. Delish. Service was impeccable. Very friendly helpful without being intrusive. Looking forward to going back

9/12/23- we had a reserv for 6:30pm. Hostess spot on offered for us to sit in table or booth. We choose a booth. Menu placed w/ wine list. We went for the the Dine Out $55.00. The choices were many. I went with my first course as a shrimp Asian salad. 2 huge shrimps nice crunch to it the salad it was a party in my mouth. G had the Caesar salad, with prosciutto. Nice touch. We both then had the peppercorn Filet. Like butter . Menu said bread on request, we requested , glad we did , All different types so good. The dessert, we both went w/ the brownie and a scoop of vanilla ice cream in a chocolate sauce. Carla the serve was Spot on. Very professional, not intrusive at all. She was very helpful with the menu ordering because I wanted to order two beef dishes and she said I thought you liked the shrimp and I’m so glad she said something because I totally forgot. Carla thank you for making our evening so nice.

The food at Maxx is always excellent, in my opinion. I always enjoy my meal here. Dessert should not be skipped! Our server was cheerful and attentive. We didn't feel rushed at all. If you are looking for ambiance, this probably isn't the best option. The restaurant needs sprucing up. It's very dark. Tables and chairs are unbecoming of the caliber of the restaurant. To get to the bathrooms, you have to walk through service areas. Once there, the appearance of the bathrooms is a far cry from the prices on the menu. If you want consistently excellent food, don't miss Maxx. They deliver. Every time.

There were 10 in my group. Everyone was very happy with the Dine Out Lauderdale menu; except me. Tom was our server and I told him right up front that I have some "food issues" and needed to be sure the chef would be okay with my modifications. Caesar salad with no prosciutto, croutons or dressing; just the romaine and reggiano. He made a face and said the chef won't make any adaptations to the menu. I asked " You can't just leave off 3 items from a salad?" He said "okay we can do that". I ordered: Gf Sweet Onion Crusted Snapper with Madeira Beurre Rouge, gaufrette potatoes and vegetables I aksed what gaufrette potatoes were and Tom said little fried potato chips for decoration on top. He did not tell me, nor does the menu say that half the dish would be mashed potatoes. I do not eat mashed potatoes and would have much preferred double vegetables. The fish was not crusted with sweet onion, it was instead a dark colored onion mixture with seasonings and spices sitting ATOP THE fish. I asked how the sauteed vegetables were prepared and he said with seasoning and butter. I told him I could not eat food that is cooked in butter. He then told me that the chef will not make any modifications to the Dine out Lauderdale Menu. I said, "no problem, I need a minute to look at the regular menu." With that, he took off and came back to tell me the chef said "okay". Unfortunately, the vegetables were cooked in butter. The fish was not crusted with onion but rather had the same onion mixture with the sauce as everyone else. And half the plate was mashed potatoes. I pushed away the potatoes and onion mixture (after tasting it and feeling sick). My dinner was a very small piece of Mahi and vegetables with a glass of wine. I was sick all night from my dinner and woke up this morning with a bad stomach. I should not have been lied to.

What a gem Cafe Maxx is! Don’t be put off by name being the same as restaurant’s name, just a weird coincidence. Every single thing we ordered was delicious. The salmon prepared perfectly with the most wonderful potatoes. The filet mignon was nice and tender and juicy with great flavor and the snapper was Devine. The desserts were such a treat, I really loved the apple tart with cinnamon gelato! Service was very good and warm as well. Try not to sit near the bar, the lively crowd does make it difficult to hear your dinner companions at your table. We will be back for certain.

Cafe Max does Dine Out right, with a wide, generous selection of dishes for the 3 courses. Service is always professional and informative. The food was good, and the truffled/portobello/asparagus risotto I had was possibly the best food I have eaten in 2023, Michelin stars to the south notwithstanding. The firecracker shrimp/Thai noodles appetizer was delish. The octopus carpaccio got gobbled by one of my friends. Only counterpoint was the desserts were cloyingly sweet. No one finished theirs, and we had 3 different ones. The apple tart was simply bad: tough, leathery pastry, overly sweet sauce, razor thin slice of apple that offered no taste at all. The carrot cake was just swimming insyrupy gooey excess, and not in a good way. The brownie won by default. Time to shake up the dessert line here.

This was our first visit to Café Maxx. We started the evening with cocktails, Mojito and an Woodford Old Fashion, both drinks were very good. We ordered the Firecracker Jumbo Shrimp as an appetizer, 2 Jumbo Shrimp on a noodle garnish which was delicious. We ordered a Caesar Salad but it never made it to the table. This is my ding to the rating experience, server stopped by how the food was and I told her the Salad didn't make it to the table. She just looked at her order pad and said "oh" and left. Main entrees consisted of Lamb Chops and Onion Encrusted Mahi. Lamb Chops were done to perfection (medium rare) and the Mahi was a nice thick cut also prepared perfectly. Once we were done with dinner the plates were promptly cleared but we waited a considerable amount of time until our server delivered the dessert menu. Another server approached out table and asked if we would like dessert or coffee. We ordered the Hot Apple pastry with Cinnamon Sorbet. Delicious! Plates were cleared and the next time we saw out server she walked by and dropped the check on the table without saying a word. Overall, the food was very good and rose to the level of the menu prices. Disappointed in the service as it felt rushed and on par with an experience at Outback Steakhouse, which is not bad by any means but Outback doesn't cost $250 for a dinner of 2.

Tried the Dine out Broward. Menu selection good, still pricy for the quality and service. Have had better meals on a cruise ship. They did not acknowledge my anniversary which had been indication on the reservation. Not outstanding by any means. Required to pay for parking in their parking lot. Would not return.

What cannot be said about Cafe Max that hasn’t already been stated? One of the best restaurants in the area, service is always through the roof! Attentive, intelligent and they all perform like a team. Place has been cranking out a memorable dining experience for decades!!! If you haven’t been, what are you waiting for? First time! The place was half full which is nice for a family brunch, quiet. We were seated and placed our drinks orders which took a while and for one, most likely store bought OJ, it came out mid-meal. For a child. Menus were old and quite filthy, the tables cloths stained and silverware aged and spotted. Food was tasteful! Server forgot every little detail to each order when jotting it all down. Not sure if I’d recommend but I would visit again, hopeful I just caught them on a bad day.

The food was good with the exception of the Crème Brûlée. It was gritty and not even close to crème, just BRÛLÉE. Service started off ok and went downhill fast. Our waiter opened the bottle of wine and set it on the table. No offer of tasting it. We asked for it to be chilled lightly (about 5 minutes) and he seemed to forget about us and the wine. After 15 minutes my husband retrieved the bottle and poured it for our table. 5 were partaking. The server was very scarce throughout the entire meal. The bus boy was much more attentive. The server never even acknowledged that the crème Brule did not have more than 1 bite taken out of it. Because the food was good we would go back, but we would avoid that server.
