Core Kitchen and Wine Bar at The Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain1. Core Kitchen and Wine Bar at The Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain

Contemporary American | Marana, Tucson

On site at the Ritz Carlton Dove Mountain, this restaurant is well worth a dinner. The food was quite good - though not extraordinary. It was also a bit over-salted. The service was exemplary. A disappointment: We wanted a glass of cabernet that the resort bar serves by the glass. The per glass portion was not available at Core. We did not want bottle, so we had to settle for another cab that was not nearly as good. It made no sense that the upstairs restaurant and bar had an expensive cab by the glass, but CORE did not. Management should look at its inconsistent policy. More

Discover Tucson

Considering that Tucson is the birthplace of the chimichanga, it should come as no surprise that Mexican restaurants are prolific in this city. Tucson falls right on the edge of the Sonoran Desert, and the cooking style in the city represents what's popular throughout this desert region. Sonoran dishes are typically based on beans, corn tortillas, cheese, peppers, and meat. Of course, although Tucson is distinctly Sonoran, it is also American, and that means you're sure to find a melting pot of cuisines within the city. When you're ready to branch out from Southwestern fare, try seafood or steak. Thin-crust pizza hits the spot when you want a familiar dish, and to top off your meal, homemade gelato is a local favorite.
