Buddakan - Philadelphia
Best place in the city
Too expensive di
One of my favorite places to eat. All was excellent
L’arrivée des plats se fait beaucoup trop rapidement
Tout arrive en même temps
Visiting the constitution center
Very romantic, I love the lighting. I’m vegan, and our server was very helpful in recommending dishes to try. I absolutely loved the dish she recommended, which was actually not on the menu.
Overall we had an amazing time. The food was great!
We eat here often we enjoy the food and always impresses when we’re entering
Excellent meal. Pleasant and efficient service.
We loved it! Food was scrumptious and our waiters were wonderful.
Delicious as always!!
We really wanted the chef tasting and were disappointed it requires 5 people. However, we recovered with a couple of the craft cocktails! The drinks were unique & delicious. We started with the dumpling sampler and Buddakan salad. All of the dumplings were tasty with the edamame dumplings being the favorite. We had the lobster fried rice which was buttery and delicious. We desired a little heat and added some chili oil. We had the sea bass, lamb and filet as entrees. Each entree was innovative and full of flavor. We were too full to enjoy dessert. Service was outstanding and my mushroom allergy was handled with precision. Will definitely return to try other exciting options.
Excellent service and food was delicious. Our waiter Dave was very informative and attentive to our needs. We enjoyed the Monk Fish, lobster rolls, and Sake!! Great time
The food was amazing!!
Buddakan made me feel so special for my birthday!
Nice experience but not as good as previously. It has always been a busy place but they seated us 30 min after our booking. The food was good and they did have a special vegetarian menu which was great for our guests. Very loud in the restaurant as a whole
The service was excellent and the food was delicious. However, the portion sizes were extremely small for a large price as well as the tables are seated extremely close to each other making it difficult to have a completely private conversation.
In my opinion the latest review saying the food and concept were tired is not valid .Everything including the new summer tomato salad with about 10 at least varieties was superb.
We shared 4 appetizers. All had unique flavors that were a culinary delight. We love the fire roasted edamame.
We were a group of ten and besides the food being excellent, so was our service. I don't remember our server's name but he really made the night very special. We've always had great experiences here but this one was over the top great!
Food and service was amazing, as expected. I have never been disappointed when dining here.
The food was great. We had Szechuan dumplings, king crab tempura and Peking Duck with a side of rice. All delicious. The restaurant was full of customers on this Wednesday night and wait staff did a great job. However it was far to loud in the restaurant. I felt like I was packed into a noisy school auditorium.
A fantastic dining experience! Our server Clint was excellent and we loved the food. Great to finally visit the original Buddakan!
First time at Buddakan -- hope it's not our last. Wonderful atmosphere and great food. Hard to ask for more from a restaurant. Enjoyed everything we ate. The edamame dumplings were a pleasant surprise. I still think about the taste it left in my mouth. Our waiter was helpful in recommending something with little/no spice for my wife. She raved about her shrimp lo-mein. The only disappointment was that we had a flight home early the next morning so we couldn't take our leftovers home with us.
It was just meh
Food was great as always. The wasabi filet was amazing. Everything was perfect on Buddakan’s end. The only thing that sucked was the couple next to us. They were obnoxious to put it lightly. They were constantly using the N word and decided to comment on videos of people getting shot in the street. Comments like “oh that’s a big a** gun” and “that buhl got earthed”. I decided not to blame Buddakan for their behavior, but it was disturbing to say the least and practically ruined the night. For a $200 dinner I expect people to act accordingly, but it seems not to be the case for others.
Outstanding!! The food was so creative and flavorful. We had the Sea Bass and Duck and both were delicious. The food is served to be shared and it’s great. Dim sum was great and we enjoyed the sashimi. Definitely recommend this for a dining experience.
Buddakan is one of my favorite restaurants in Philadelphia. The food is always amazing. I have never had a bad meal here. The only thing that was off at my last visit was the waiter. He did not go over any of the daily specials. So we missed out on the seasonal or daily appetizer and other specials. We only realized at the end of the meal when we heard the waitress next to us tell another table.
I’ve been going to this restaurant every year for my birthday for the last 10 years. I’m sorry to report that Tammy, our waitress, was not attentive. The food was delicious, but our server was not very good. I hope next year for my birthday she’s not our waitress!
Delicious in every way. Love the food. Love the decor.
The one in New York is MUCH better. I the service was slow, the waiter barely checked on us at between courses, & the food was too sweet. We had the pepper beef & yuck
Very good food. Don’t come like we did as tourists. Dress well. Service was great, though!
Loved the tastes from Asia. Go there without any doubts.
Came for my birthday and we definitely becoming back. The donuts are out of this world amazing btw. It’s a nice finish to the evening.
For the price you’d think you’d get better quality food. We chose not to eat entrees after the appetizers and left. Overpriced waiters seem new probably high turnover
Entertaining out of state visitors
Food was very good and our server was very knowledgeable about wine pairings. It is quite dark for some elderly people, luckily I always carry a dinner flash light just for that purpose. Our seating next to the kitchen was very loud and the music to us is unnecessary for a quiet and relaxing dinner.
Fantastic food and great service!
Visited Buddakan on a weekend trip to Philadelphia.
Food was very high quality - we shared spring rolls and lobster rolls for starter. Neither were greasy, which can be problem.
Entrees were also excellent - BBQ pork and black cod.
Would definitely recommend.
Place never lets me down. Will always come back. Foods amazing, always hot, always tasty and the service is top notch. Everyone is friendly and it’s very romantic, yet hip and upscale. Dimmed lighting , nice upscale bar and the ambiance is always perfect
Nice lunch with my daughter to close out my two week vacation from work.
We had a wonderful dinner at Buddakan. We had the sashimi and soup dumplings to start then the sea bass and duck. Just simply fantastic! Service was great and we truly enjoyed it.
