Bazille - Nordstrom Thousand Oaks
Bazille is located on the second floor of Nordstrom at the Oaks Mall in Thousand Oaks featuring our interpretation of contemporary flavors focusing on bold tastes and textures. Our menu is complimented by a well chosen selection of interesting wines, many available by the glass.
The portion of the crab avocado salad keeps getting smaller.
Group of seven met for lunch at noon. Very busy and noisy.
I probably wouldnt go there if i wasnt at the Mall already but its a wonderful place to have lunch if you are. Not noisy and crowded like the cheesecake factory . Not particularly expensive either. High quality food. Healthy items on the menu. Pretty little place.
We arrived at 6pm on Christmas Eve and they were closing up. We had reservations for 6pm through OpenTable and they said OpenTable doesn't listen to our hours and shouldn't have made reservations for your Christmas Eve dinner at that time. They told us they called us to let us know but we didn't answer. Keep in mind this phone call came in at 4:18pm Christmas Eve(same day as our reservation) while we were at a movie(phone was off). As soon as the movie was over we ran to the restaurant to hear this news in person(delivered with zero apologies). We had to leave and eat fast food on Christmas Eve because every other restaurant was booked solid. I have never written a bad review in my life but feel this needs to be written so that others may avoid the same fate for a special occasion meal at Bazille. :(
Great place to meet friends and enjoy tasty food and drinks in a great atmosphere.
The new happy hour menu is great! Excellent value on the food items, and good deals on drinks, too!
We really missed the sommelier that worked previous tastings. She stopped by at each glass serving and discussed both the wine and food pairing process. Really enjoyed that.
This trip, we only had one visit from the replacement sommelier so we felt somewhat neglected compared to previous meals.
Also, I might note that my beef Wellington service portion was the smallest size portion I have ever been served anywhere. Literally, just three bites. The others in my group had normal portions and they were kind enough to share some with me. I should have said something to the staff but that just makes everyone uncomfortable so I didn't.
It's a shame because my wife and I were trying to impress our guests with this fun and informative dinner outing but unfortunately, this time it just failed.
Wonderful dinner with my husband. We enjoyed the soup of the day, a bacon corn chowder, a kale salad, the scallops with lemon risotto and grilled steak with French fries and arugula salad. We also got dessert, a white chocolate raspberry bread pudding. Some sparkling rose, Chardonnay and French press coffee were our beverages.
Waitress basically ignored us.
This is my go-to lunch restaurant so decided to bring girls’ night here. The menu satisfied everyone’s palate and the portions were perfect.
Our only criticism was that the servers cleared plates and glasses without asking permission. I personally still had some of my cocktail remaining and was hoping to enjoy it a bit longer.
Aside from that, it’s a great place for date night or small groups.
Friendly, courteous service, delicious food, nice décor overall, however there is some charm missing.
Nice find in an unusual location.
Negative: made reservations for lunch, but appeared irrelevant. Waited behind others who didn’t. Wait was short (7-10 minutes).
Positive: once seated, service was excellent. Food was exceptional. Delicious calamari & lime chicken tacos to share. Crab bisque was so good. Ambience was delightful. Would highly recommend & I will be returning! Thank you.
Have dined here several times. Food, service, and ambience are consistently good. I love the convenience of having a nice restaurant inside a department store. After shopping, you can treat yourself with a nice meal and a glass of wine with your significant other or the entire family.
The wine pairings were interesting.
The appetizer and salad were very good. However, the salmon did not taste fresh and was not tender.
Portions are too large for a four-course meal.
Great place for a casual dining experience. The food is very consistent here, prepared nicely. There is a full bar, limited brands, but enough options as well as nice boutique wines and beer. Staff is friendly and attentive. Salads are always fresh, sized appropriately. The crab bisque, albeit a bit salty this time, is a favorite. The French Dip is my favorite sandwich here. My friend opted for the happy hour grilled patty melt, he really liked it. Definitely a nice environment and reasonably priced fare and drinks. Great spot.
The "little Gem" Caesar with salmon came with large leaves of Romaine, not little gem, and the salmon was over cooked and the entire salad covered with finely grated parmesan cheese. My wife tried to eat the salmon but being overcooked she had to send it back and the difficulty cutting the very large leaves of Romaine turned her off. My lobster mac and cheese was good, but a small portion with little lobster. $27 with tax and tip seems too high.
Service was terrific and we had a great time. Nice idea to have these wine pairing dinners.
I ordered the crab and mango salad the crab was rancid and had to send it back. By the time my new order (other option) came out, my husband’s dinner was cold as he waited for my meal to arrive. They brought another salad, forgot to omit the dressing, had to make another. Very disappointing dinner experience
As always the food and service were fabulous
Nicole was such a great waitress, very courteous and knowledgeable about the food. Very efficient too!!
Great food and service. Our waitress, Gisele, was lovely; but the entire team was great.
Our table was ready, set up and waiting for us. The host certainly went over and above and assisted when she noticed something.
I generally order the crabmeat, mango, avocado salad. Lately, each time, there's less and less crabmeat. Not happy with menu selections since Bazille took over. I used to visit on a regular basis. Not so much anymore.
Nice lunch spot. Quality ,service and nice ambiance. 😀
We enjoyed our meal and the service was very good. I don't remember the waiter's name - a man, perhaps in his early 50s - with a slight accent maybe? Very good waiter.
Quiet - which I liked.
Loved the food and the service. I will definitely rerun to try the fresh dip sandwich that looked amazing
Food was delicious, service was good. Super nice staff and ambience. Definitely recommend the maple bacon eggs and the salted caramel cheesecake!
Bazille always gets top marks for food but for the first time the service was wonderful. Unfortunately I can’t recall the young ladies name but she was efficient, friendly and very knowledgeable about wine and cocktails. Top class!
I still much prefer the Blue Stove...their menu selections, bread and olives, window treatments, etc. much better value for lunch.
The food was nice and the drinks were great but it is a type of coffee shop.
Always a nice evening out.
Cozy eatery. Highly recommend for drinks, small bites, dinner, etc. Trying their wine dinner next.
Waiter was not very attentive even though there was plenty of other help (well staffed). Usually I get better service here. Perhaps he was new?
Very nice atmosphere for a birthday dinner with my wife. Her scallops were excellent. My pan fried chicken with shredded Brussels sprouts was not a good taste combination. The chicken was bland, and the Brussels sprouts were overpowering. I recommend this dish be removed from the menu. I appreciate creativity, but this dish did not succeed
Pleasant atmosphere and good service, but overpriced with a scant selection of vegetarian dishes.
Been back several times for dinner, lunch and wine dinners.
Sorry you do not have a birthday treat for celebrations....
Our server Anica is awesome!!
Dined at this restaurant for the second time. It has decent food, great service and nice ambiance. Menu is limited, however, adequate. I remember the lighting to be dimmer the last time I dined there. This time is was a little too bright, which takes away from the ambiance a little. Overall, I recommend this restaurant.
The food we ordered was very good l had been there a few months earlier for lunch and we had the delicious French dip sandwich
When we were there a few days ago it was for dinner and out of the roast beef. We came from Ventura especially for the dip dinner
We were disappointed there wasn’t any but we did enjoy what we ordered which was the patty melt
