Great as usual !!
Nice staff, good menu options for Restaurant Week. The room is small (very small) so if you're looking for a quiet dinner with privacy, you won't find it here. But if you want a good Italian meal at a good price, I recommend it.
We love it, food was delicious, nice and right temperature. Service was great, very friendly we will go back my daughter can’t get over the side dish of pasta she still talking about it. Thanks for everything.
Had dinner during Restaurant week, so hard to judge what the menu etc. would be like otherwise. Veal with mushrooms was very good. Caprese salad would have been better with better tomatoes. Worth a return visit.
Overall the experience was good. As someone who has dined at many Italian restaurants both in the states and Italy I would say the food was average to slightly above average and taste and quality.
This is a wonderful neighborhood place, BYOB and fairly small. It is usually fairly quiet and good for conversation, although the last time we were there, there were two tables of 8+ people so it was noisy--not typical. Food is good and menu has diverse Italian dishes. Service is excellent. Mainly, this is a pleasant local place for a reasonable casual dinner.
The restaurant looks like it was a travel agency or salon of some sort that was barely converted to a restaurant. That being said the food was very good.
My biggest complaint with this and most other restaurants is this. If you have specials to offer, take the time to list them on a separate menu. To be honest, the room was so noisy it didn't understand most of what my server was saying.
Food was bland. Service was attentive but couldn’t make up for food. We will not be going back
Went for my mom's 81st bday - cozy quaint venue and wonderful service - staff made the night special :)
I love this restaurant. The food is delicious and the attentive wait staff are great. BYOB too!! Wish it were a tad bigger as it is tight quarters. But it is nice due to friendly eaters nearby.
Great Food!! Out of this world...
We were staying at the Warwick Hotel Rittenhouse Square and strolled over to La Baia for a dinner to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. The food was awesome. The owner and woman waiting on us treated us like family, and we had a wonderful dinner. La Baia is small, quaint, and an obvious favorite in the neighborhood. We prefer this to places packed with tourists. We will definitely return for dinner soon, and highly recommend this little gem to anyone visiting Philadelphia! We would love you to open La Baia in our city, Washington, DC!
Great little spot. Friendly service and delicious food!
One of the best BYOB restaurants in the city. Food is excellent with nice size portions and wonderful flavors. Owner is always there and adds a nice touch to the experience. Service is friendly and accommodating. They make adjustments to your choice of meals if possible. - Great eating experience.
The food was very good and so was the service, restaurant is very small so noise level was loud, but to b expected
Excellent food, friendly service, feels like you’re in someone’s dining room. We had an excellent night out.
Great food and tasty !!
It was way too noisy for the size of the place; they need some acoustic muffling wall hangings...but the food was great!
Small quaint restaurant located in Rittenhouse Square. Portions are large and the service was excellent. We are monthly customers and will be returning more frequently. Lobster ravioli and the chicken marsala were to die for.
Wonderful little spot for a cozy and delicious night out with friend! Food was excellent and well priced, and the service was outstanding!
Everything about our visit was outstanding. Food was out of this world and HOT! I love when food comes out and it's steaming. Every bite was amazing. Our waitress was lovely. Cannot wait to go back!
This place was amazing. Cozy and the owner/staff were great! Awesome food. The vibe was overall fun and comfortable. I definitely recommend this as a date night or a group dinner.
We went to Bistro La Baya for a PreTheater dinner on a Tuesday night. It was quiet. The service was friendly, welcoming and attentive. Everyone liked their apps and entrees. My Pasta Arrabbiata was perfectly cooked and spiced. My rule: If the Pasta is homemade and cooked perfectly al dente, then I am a customer for life. Can’t wait to go back.
Great food but can be noisy
We arrived for our reservation at 6:30. At 7:45, the owner asked us to leave so they could serve the next table. We had paid the bill within 2 minutes of him asking that. I have never been to a restaurant where we were rudly asked to leave. Especially at an Italian restaurant after and hour and 15 mins! It was so rude.
Overall everything was good I got the gnocchi and it needs a lot of work wasn’t smooth at all and tough but tried other people meals and they were great!
Second time here and the food is amazing! one of the best Italian in the city. Place is small and cozy and had the opportunity of meeting the owner and he was such a sweetheart! Will continue to come back for great Italian!!
Food was delicious and the service was excellent. Only disappoint was that we didn't realize it was BYOB and cash only. However, worked out just fine. We were celebrating a bday and it was fun. Food was quite good and felt like we found a neighborhood gem.
We made the mistake of going on a Saturday night, when the restaurant was full. The noise was deafening—so loud, our eardrums ached. (Seriously). The food is mediocre, and even though the prices are fair, the food is simply not good enough to overcome the horrible atmosphere. It is a very small place, and the owners are trying to fit more diners in than the room comfortably accommodates.
My best friend and I went here on a recommendation from another friend. I’m so glad we decided to dine here! The food is superb! It’s a little noisy and crowded, but in the way you expect a great byob to be! The pasta was fresh, the grilled octopus was tender, and the service was wonderful. I’ll not only come again and again, but I’ll highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves amazing food!
Beautiful hole in the wall Italian spot! The server tended to us well and created a romantic ambiance even though we were the only couple there at the time. Brought tiramisu for my boyfriend’s birthday. Worth every penny, we will definitely be back in the future
My wife and I were very impressed with the quality of food and the service at Bistro La Baia. Our soup, salad and entrees were excellent! I recommend Bisto La Baia.
Great Italian neighborhood restaurant. A mile walk from hotels near convention center
It's a quiet, unpretentious place that produces the one thing we look for: interesting tastes. The sauce for the veal scallopini was subtle and interesting . . . not just some tomato-y slop. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the vegetables surrounding had a lovely flavor, not overpowering but not boring. We think it's a great spot, especially before seeing a show at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre.
Great food, service, and value! Everything we had was delicious and the service is attentive but not overbearing. Reasonable prices, too. Highly recommended.
Cozy Mediterranean BYOB. Service was very personal. Although it was our first time, we were treated as carefully as if we were regulars. We ate on a busy Saturday during Restaurant Week. Although busy, staff was attentive and never rushed us. Food was outstanding - served hot. Portions - even during Restaurant Week - were generous. Of particular note, caponata, (eggplant stew) which is seldom seen on menus. Savory, flavorful, a meal in itself if accompanied by crusty bread. Restaurant can be noisy but focus on the food and all will be well.Convenient to Kimmel and other Broad Street venues.
Food was excellent. I recommend the Arancini and Pappardelle pasta over anything else. We went for restaurant week and would definitely go back. Only downside was that it was a tight fit on the inside and when it's crowded it can be very noisy. Sitting outside was a lot better.
great location but also quiet. Very small restaurant but they had outdoor seating which was great. The food was soo good!
Gnocchi tasted like hard potatoes. Risotto balls were fine. Service was fine. The food was nothing exceptional.
