The food was amazing. Wine list was great. Very small, intimate setting for maybe 20 guests. The chef does everything, from greeting you when you walk in, taking your order, cooking your food, delivering your food and drinks and clearing the table. Only downside is after 12 years he is closing to pursue another opportunity at a different kitchen.

What a wonderful and intimate experience!! The owner took care of us while also preparing the food and drinks. It’s exceptional to see someone so good at their craft. I can’t wait to go back!

John is a very talented chef/proprietor and have been going there for years and it NEVER disappoints. If you haven’t gone, go and if you have gone go again!

The best Christmas Eve dinner ever. I realized why the restaurant has been in business for 14 years. The food was beautiful and delicious. Even though Christmas Eve is slow for restaurants, we sure were glad that he opened.

This is a little gem of fine dining. Unique and flavorful, interesting and sophisticated. If you are looking for a unique dining experience that is quality across all the courses served, this is it. We also did the wine pairing and it the wines complimented the food very well. It was a truly wonderful dining experience and we will go back again.

Food & Service was excellent. Highly recommend Bistro Barbes. Jonathan was a great host. Great wine pairing options and the wine list has excellent choices too!
