We use to go here often. Especially for birthdays and anniversary But haven’t gone in a few years. When we arrived No one was at the front desk to greet us. We waited for 10 minutes before anyone showed up to seat us. We were the only ones seated at our table and they put us at the far back corner next to the area where they enter all the orders so very crowded when the rest of the table was open. We placed our order and they brought out onion soup, (in the past we were always given a salad with ginger dressing as well, but not this time.) Our chef came out cooked our six scallops each along with about a fourth of an onion and a fourth of a zucchini which were shared. (The onion our chef used for the “ volcano “ and threw away was more onion than we got to eat ). The fried rice with tasty but obviously made with Old rice as it had many hard pieces of rice in it. Our Bill came to $78. We were both still hungry but felt rushed to get out. Sadly, we will not be going back.

Despite a reservation they were running 20 minutes late for a 6:30 reservation (a common occurrence). The company has completely changed class levels in the last 5 years, in that, it used to be an upstanding restaurant with dignity. Now, it's a timeshare upsell at every turn. Sparkling water, wagyu beef and butter upgrade option pressure purchases at the table. We've been going to Benihana since the mid 1980's and actually got to see some new skills/tricks at the table, which was fun, but the flavor has definitely declined and gotten dull as well. Sad to see a once staple in our restaurant rotation fall farther down the list, if not completely off for good.
