We love Barbuzzo! My boyfriend and I try to come whenever we can. Their food is comforting and high quality. The ambiance is always cozy. Definitely a must-go for any italian food lover.
I’m particular their mushroom gnocchi and margarita pizza is amazing!
Our waitress was just not nice and condescending.
The food was awesome...service disappointing this time
I love this place and come here all the time! The food is delicious and the service is great as well!
We love Barbuzzo and it will always be a favorite of ours. The food is always amazing and the staff is always great. My only complaint is that it can be tough to sit near the door on winter nights.
Very good food and service. Just a little noisy.
Crowded, like a NYC restaurant. Conversation difficult but food and service ample and excellent.
Amazing, I loved that atmosphere, the drink selections were abundant, I had a glass of Merlot and a glass of Cava, both from high quality vineyards and not expensive. For my starter we choose the margherita pizza (good portion for sharing) and it was amazing, for condiments they offered fresh oregano and chili oil, these two paired really well with the pizza. Entree's here are meant for sharing, we ordered the halibut that came in broth of capers.... Amazing and an octopus salad that was unbelievable. To top it all off we had caramel covered bread pudding with goat milk vanilla ice cream. Everything was amazing, portions are perfect for sharing with two people and the prices are good... I am definitely going back to try other items on the menu.
This is one of our favorite spots but this time service was way off. One persons food showed up about 10 minutes before anybody else's, and trying to get the server's attention took a long time.
Intimate seating with an open kitchen to view and smell all the delicious dishes being prepared. Service is amazing from a well educated staff. Excellent portion sizes and extensive drink menu
The food was excellent. The main server was incredible. There was a second server helping with drinks and they kept messing up our drinks. We were a laid back group so no one complained. The restaurant was packed and it was quite warm, and very little room. However, we do love this restaurant and would go back.
Family style Mediterranean food. Our server was attentive without being intrusive. The food is excellent. We had the beet salad, sheep's milk ricotta, grilled octopus, mushroom toast, and flake steak. Everything was seasoned perfectly. I would recommend reservations.
The restaurant serves good food but their policy of bringing out food when ready was disconcerting. A side dish was served before the appetizer and my husband received his entree 10 minutes after I did. The bill was much higher than expected. We won’t be back. They won’t miss us.
The restaurant is small and therefore feels tight when having to maneuver between the tables to enter and exit through the front door. Overall, food and atmosphere were both excellent.
Wonderful waitress and great food! Seated promptly at our reservation time. Short wait for food to arrive once ordered.
Awesome great server
The food was outstanding, different, extremely tasty, and healthy.
Reservation was made for 5, saying that it was a work event. According to my team, they were placed at a cramped 4 person table. We were interviewing for a new faculty impression, and I'm afraid this didn't leave the best impression. :(
Great food- came out at a quick pace. Good service as well.
one of our favs to frequent in philly. Love getting the usual items, meatballs, gnocchi, pizza and mixing in a few new dishes like the Autumn salad or octopus.
The food was fantastic and the service was outstanding. Will definitely be back.
Seated immediately at our reservation time. Great cocktails (mentioned and Basil Lemonade). Grilled Octopus was outstanding. Loved the Uovo pizza. Budino dessert is a must. Our water Shane was worth the price of admission. This place never disappoints.
We went here for our 25th anniversary trip to Philly and had a wonderful time. Food was amazing especially the meatballs and the carrots. Really everything we are we loved including the wine on special. Our waiter was so friendly and attentive even though he was so busy. Perfect night. Tables are very small and close together but that’s my only complaint.
Just wow. Had a great night with friends here, we ordered the meatballs, finochhio pizza, tagliatelli and the gnocchi. They were all delicious. On top of that, the cocktails were fantastic. And the caramel buddino of course, to die for. There was a slight problem with the card and getting charged the wrong amount initially but it was quickly fixed and our waiter was great about it. Love this place, only downside is you basically have to make a reservation a month in advance if you want a secure table for a group.
Food was decent, service was not the best. However, it was a nice, quick lunch place where it wasn't so crowded and rushed during lunch time
Great waiter and food
Celebrated my husband's birthday and we were quite excited as it had been a while since we last dined at Barbuzzo. The food was outstanding and my husband said it was one of his best food experiences. We shared a lovely pasta dish and two vegetable dishes - pasta caccio charred broccoli, and sweet potato w harissa dish and all were just wonderful and went well together. He celebrated with a tiramisu and enjoyed that very much.
As for the service, wow, very disappointed. It took a long time to place our drink order and it although it was a busy Sat night it just seemed there was a lack of attention or blasé quality about our server and that was the vibe for the night. It could have been a negative if it wasn't that the food was so good.
We'll be back but next time opt for the bar.
So delicious and special. The waitstaff could not have been lovelier and the food was amazing. Just what you would want from a night out. Can't wait to go back!!
We bought our friends from the suburbs here to enjoy some of what we feel is the best food in center city. From the velvety butternut squash soup, to the cauliflower pasta and veggie grain burger, everything was delicious. I love a good Old fashioned and the bar made it perfectly, not cloyingly sweet. Our friends enjoyed their Manhattans as well. Tiramisu for dessert as well as a stop for chocolates next door. Jamonera, Lolita, Bud& Marilyn’s, at each we have had a culinary experience well worth the money.
The Budino is the best item on the menu. I would also recommend the ricotta
Barbuzzo never disappoints. The small plates let you try several inventive dishes. The beet salad, pizzas and the stuffed meatballs are all great choices. The pastas are all delicious as well as unique. The craft cocktails are delightful but make sure you save room for dessert as the Salted Caramel Budino is truly a Happy Ending:-)
Went there for a date. Service was great and food was great, as usual.
The restaurant is a bit cramped, but not uncomfortable. (Our pizza was actually flipped over by a patron in a puffy coat, but we got the idea it happens often and the staff took it in stride and had us another in 15 minutes!) Service was lovely and efficient--support staff were on their game. Fantastic wine list. Great meatballs. Only disappointment was a pizza with a soggy bottom: too much sauce + fresh mozzarella made it soupy. Overall, would totally recommend.
I always love the food at Barbuzzo. There are classics that are almost always on the menu and rotating dishes to fit the season. The only downside to dining at Barbuzzo is how crowded the space can feel.
The antipasti platter never disappoints. Consistently fabulous food....salted caramel budino is to die for.
There are so many things to try here, everything was delicious. Love there pizza as an appetizer. A must for newcomers ....enjoy!
Second time to this place. The food was really disappointing and it was so hot in the back! I was sweating over my meal. The tables are way close together the chairs hurt my rear and the waitstaff is brusque. They did take my entree off if the bill and the server apologized, without me having to say anything, for being a bit rough and I appreciated that. The whole thing just felt like a scene and it wasn’t enjoyable.
Dining as a group of four, it was easy to share the olives, cheese board, two pizzas, wine and dessert for under $200 - a pretty good value. The pizzas were both great, but hands down, the budino and apple bread pudding were to die for. The only down side to the restaurant is the noise level and closeness of other diners, but we were prepared for that based on the reviews.
Tim, the bartender, was EXTREMELY RUDE tonight... as I was leaving, he literally starred me down and refused to help me until he could attend to the 2 (two!) customers in line behind me. I was shocked and completely dumbfounded by his inappropriate behavior. I still cannot believe a such a well-known and popular restaurant would allow its’ employees to treat a customer so badly. It was a terrible way to end an otherwise awesome dinner this evening.
We always have a good dining experience at Barbuzzo. The staff is professional and the dishes are consistently innovative and delicious. The roasted beet salad with kale was the star this time.
Highly recommend the gnocchi in particular. Fantastic.
